I I I 101, MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, MARCH 27, 1978 Present: Frank T. Arredondo Mayor Council Members Ted Breihan Robert L. Cavazos John A. Hansen Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director of Finance Director of Public Works Director of Parks and Recreation C. J. Webster Doriss Hambrick Charles E. Evans Earl T. Williams Ray Kotowski Warren Leddick Absent: Council Member immie Craddock Also Present: Gordon Hyatt, Glenn Longley, Jake Krauskopf, Jeff Franks, Gene Majors, William Potter, William R. Rogers, Bill Nicola, Terry Roberts~ Mr. & Mrs. Hubert Butler, Jeff Ebner, Gene Funk, Gary Bond, Gilbert Conoley, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Arredondo issued a proclamation for the local Lions Club in observance of Sight Conservation Week. The minutes of the regular meeting held March 20, 1978 were introduced for consideration. Mr. Sutton moved the minutes be adopted. Mr. James seconded the motion. Mr. Breihan pointed out an error on page 3, line 9, of those minutes which should have referred to "a meter change out program". Mr. Sutton amended his motion to provide for that correction. The seconder accepted the amendment. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: Aye: Arredondo, James, Sutton, Breihan Nay: None Abstain: Cavazos, Hansen The Mayor introduced moved to appoint Mr. Board of Directors. unanimously. Agenda Item #11 out of order. Mr. Breihan William C. Potter to the Housing Authority Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed The Mayor next introduced Agenda Item #8 out of order, a request for a permit to locate a mobile home on a 2.56 acre tract in the J. M. Veramendi Survey Number 2, 2701 Interstate Highway 35 North. The applicant was Belknap Van & Storage. Mr. Cavazos moved the temporary permit be approved. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor next introduced a request from Mr. & Mrs. Hubert E. Butler for a temporary permit to locate a mobile home on Lot 33 of the A. M. Ramsay Addition, 109 Second Street. Mr. Hansen moved the temporary permit be approved. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion. Mr. Breihan, having learned the applicant intended to rent the mobile home, restated his contention that the Council should consider limiting issuance of temporary permit only to those persons who intended to live in the mobile home or allow members of their family to live in them. Mr. Butler pointed out that the property was zoned for mixed usage and that there were already a number of mobile homes in the area. On roll call, the motion to approve the temporary permit was unanimously approved.
