<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the regular meeting held May 8. 1978 were
<br />approved on motion of Mr. James and second of Mr. Hyatt
<br />with Mr. Breihan abstaining due to his absence from that
<br />meeting.

<br />Mr. Hyatt moved to take an ordinance on first reading amend-
<br />ing the General Zoning Ordinance from the table. Mr. Breihan
<br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor
<br />read the caption of an ordinance as follows:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING
<br />SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU-
<br />LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE
<br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED
<br />MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE
<br />ZONING OF LOTS 110, 114, 115 AND 116 OF
<br />THE PARK ADDITION, THIRD DIVISION, LOCAT-
<br />ED AT 817 CHESTNUT STREET, FROM "c"
<br />(COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL).
<br />
<br />Mr. John McCrocklin came before the Council to encourage
<br />that the property be rezoned. The applicant, John Tucker,
<br />was also present to request the change. Mr. Curtis Jenkins,
<br />owner of property within 200 feet of the property in question
<br />restated his earlier objections to the rezoning. Mr. Breihan
<br />moved the ordinance be denied. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion.
