48 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JUNE 13, 1977 Present: Mayor Frank T. Arredondo Council Members Ted Breihan Robert L. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. Mr. Arredondo issued a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Zeb H. Fitzgerald for his service as Director of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority from 1959 to the present. I The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 23, 1977 were approved on motion of Dr. Craddock and second of Mr. Cavazos. The Minutes of the Special Meeting held May 19 were approved on motion of Dr. Craddock and second of Mr. James. Dr. Craddock moved to confirm the appointment of Mrs. Velia Cavazos to another three- year term on the Personnel Appeals Board. Mr. James Seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: Craddock, Arredondo, Hansen, James, Sutton, Breihan None Cavazos. The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a reQuest from W.L. Tanner for a change in the zoning of Lot 8, Block 3 of the MacNaughton Addition from "R-I" to "R-2". The applicant was not present to reQuest the change. James Ford and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jones were present to object to the rezoning. The Mayor noted that petitions of objectio from persons owning more than 20% of the property within 200' of the subject property had been received and that the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial of the change. The Mayor closed the hearing and read an ordinance having the following caption I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AJn) USE OE BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 8, BLOCK 3 OF THE MAC NAUGHTON ADDITION, LOCATED ON ORCHARD STREET, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX). Dr. Craddock moved the Ordinance not be approved. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AJID USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF APPROXIMATELY 5. 5 ACRES CONSISTING OF LOTS 3, 4, 5, AND 6 AND '~HE NORTH PARTS OF LOTS 2 AND 7 OF THE PROPOSED OAKWOOD ADDITION, LOCATED ACROSS lliUlCH ROAD 12 FROM CRESTWOOD CENTER, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL) .
