Poor~; Jerri Martin; <br />John Pfeffer; Jon Sparks; Melissa Millecam <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilman King. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the meeting held March 12 were approved as presented <br />on motion of Councilman Etheredge and second of Councilman Cunningham. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a change in zoning <br />of approximately 1.5 acres fronting 243.92 feet on Lamar Street, <br />254 feet in depth out of the T.J. Chambers Survey from "R-l" to <br />"D". Mr. Jack Hearn, owner of the property, came before the <br />Council to state that he would donate 15 feet right-of-way to the <br />City on Lamar Street. There was no one to speak against the zoning <br />change. The Mayor declared the Public Hearing closed. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF APPROXIMATELY 1.5 ACRES IN THE <br />COLLEGE HEIGHTS ADDITION, FRONTING 243.92 ON LAMAR AVENUE, <br />254 FEET IN DEPTH OUT OF THE T.J. CHAMBERS SURVEY FROM <br />"R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "D" (MULTIFAMILY). <br /> <br />Councilman King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading, <br />final approval being dependent on the dedication of the 15 feet <br />of right-of-way on Lamar. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced tor consideration a request from Mrs. Fernando <br />Zamora for a temporary permit to locate a mobile home on Sherwood <br />Street. It was noted that the Planning and Zoning Commission had <br />recommended approval of the request. Dr. Tauch moved the permit <br />be issued to Mrs. Zamora. Mr. Yarbrough seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager presented the results of the bid opening conducted <br />March 19 for the rehabilitation of the Midway ground storage tank <br />and the elevated storage tank on Alamo Street. He explained that <br />the funds tor this expenditure had been authorized by the Council <br />as a part of the revenue sharing funds budget. The consulting <br />engineers firm of Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam reviewed the bids <br />and recommended award of contract to the low bidders, L.E. Travis <br />and sons. Mr. King moved to award the contract for the rehabilitation <br />of the Midway and Alamo water storage tanks to L.E. Travis and Sons. <br />Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />The bid sheet is attached. <br />
