Word; Bryan Carl; <br />Bob Barton; Emmie Craddock; Mrs. Jack Stovall; <br />Virginia Hightower; Bob Hyatt; Glen Adams; Ramiro Lugo <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p,m. <br /> <br />The Reverend Alphonso Washington gave the Invocation. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the regu I ar meet i ngof September 25 were approved as <br />presented on moti~nof Councilman King and second ~f Councilman Tauch. <br />The Minutes of the Executive Session of September 29 were approved as <br />presented on motion of Councilman King'.and second of Councilman <br />Etheredge, with Mr. Yarbrough abst~ining due to his absence at the <br />meeting. The Minutes of the special meeting of October 2 were <br />approved as presented on motion of Mr., Etheredge and second of <br />Dr. Tauch with Mr. Yarbrough abstaining. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Publ ic Hearing to consider a change in zoning on <br />Lots 76 and 77 in the A,M. Ramsay Addition from riM" (mixed) to "C-2" <br />(establ ishments other than restaurants which dispense liquor, wine <br />or beer for on premise consumption). The Mayor asked if there were <br />any persons wishing to speak in favor of the requested change. There <br />was n~ response. The Mayor asked if anyone wished to speak in <br />opposition to the requested change. Attorney Charles Ramsay, repre- <br />senting Mrs. Farris Hunter, mentioned petitions (see attached) <br />presented by residents of the area protesting the proposed change <br />which they felt would not add to the betterment of the neighborhood, <br />Othe~ pers~ns speaking in protest were Mrs. Hunter, Mrs, Jose Vasquez~ <br />and Mr. M.iguel Hernandez. There being no further discussion the <br />May~rd~clared the Publ ic Hearing closed. <br /> <br />The Mayor .,introduced an ordinance and read the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE.WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 76 AND 77 OUT OF THE A,M. RAMSAY <br />ADDITION, lOCATED AT THE CORNE~ OF THIRD AND SEGUIN ST~EETS, <br />FROM "M" (MIXED) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br />
