Byrom. <br /> <br />The Minutes of May 22 were approved as presented on motion of <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa and second of Mr. Etheredge with Mr. King abstaining. <br />The Minutes of May 26 were approved as presented on motion of <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa and second of Mr. Etheredge with Councilmen Cunningham <br />and Tauch abstaining. <br /> <br />The Reverend, Jack E. Byrom, speaking for the Board of Directors of <br />Texas Museum of History, I nc., came before the Counc j I to reaff i I'm <br />th.lr interest in the property designated by action of the Council <br />on December 14, 1970 as a site for a museum. The Mayor,appointed <br />Councilmen Etheredge and King to meet with the Museum Board to <br />determine how much of the property in Block 21, Qriginal Town of <br />San Marcos, would be needed for the proposed museum. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution with the following caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION <br />OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT FOR GRANT TO ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP <br />LAND FOR OPEN-SPACE PURPOSES <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved the Resolution be approved. Mr. Etheredge <br />seconded ~he motion. The City Manager explained that the grant <br />allocation for the development of Rio Vista Park of $286,946.00 <br />is a part" of the Federal"Legacy of Parks" program which wi II <br />pro~ide a swimming ~ool-park cbmplex for San Marcos. Question <br />being called for, the mOtion passed unanimously. <br />
