Worrell <br /> <br />Visitors: <br /> <br />David Basye, Lanny Cravy, Jerri Martin, <br />Germaine Tuff, Frances Emery, Jerry Moore, <br />Frank Davidson, Peter Rodriguez, <br />Eddy A, Etheredge <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilman Yarbrough gave the Invocation. <br /> <br />Minutes of the January 11 meeting were approved as presented, <br />on motion of Mr. Zavesky and second of Mr. Yarbrough. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced ~n ordinance annexing 4~ acres of land. <br />Mr. Zavesky moved approval of the ordinance on second reading. <br />Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced discussion of regulations for parking for <br />employ.ees at the Court House. He gave a brief resume .of past <br />policy and action, and the problem that had arisen when County <br />Judge Max Smith issued exempt parking permits to employees at <br />the Court House, It was stated that, on three different occasions, <br />the Mayor and City Manager had tried, without success, to negotiate <br />a workable plan for Court House employee parking. Three altern- <br />atives for dealing with the situation were outlined by the City <br />Manager. Mr, Yarbrough moved that the Council reject the request <br />of the County to furnish sufficient parking spaoes"for employees <br />at the Court House, and that the Police Department be instructed <br />to enforce the ordinance governing parking meters. Mr, King <br />seconded the motion and on roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Flores, King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced two Planning & Zoning matters~ see attached <br />letter, Councilman Zavesky moved approval of change of zoning <br />from "R-1" to"C" on Tracts A & B, Crestwood Subdivision. <br />Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, <br /> <br />A request for subdividing a portion of Farm Lot 15, located <br />at 816 West Hopkins, was discussed by the Council, A plat of <br />the property was examDned by the Council. Mr. King moved approv- <br />al of the Planning & Zoning Commission's recom~endition that the <br />request for subdividing be granted. Mr. Zavesky seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
