<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />The Rev. James E. Folts, Rector of St. Mark's Church, gave the
<br />Invocation.
<br />
<br />'The Minutes of April 26, 1971 .were approved as presented" on
<br />motion?f Mr. Yarbrough ~bdsecond of Mr,. Flores.

<br />The Minutes of May S ,1971 ,were. approved "as presented, with
<br />cor recti on of date, on motion. of .Mr.. Ki ng . and, second of Mr.
<br />Dela Rosa.

<br />The Mayor announced that the next item of business was election
<br />of a Mayor for the ensuing year. Mr. Smith said'his ~nsettled
<br />,business situation made it impossible for him to serve another year.
<br />He expressed appreciation to all City employees and City Councilmen
<br />for their coope~ation.
<br />
<br />Councilman King moved .that Herbert A. Yarbrough, jr. be ,elected
<br />Mayor by acclamation. Mr. De La Rosa seconded the motion, and on
<br />roll call, the following vote ,was re~orded:
