D., 1954, at 2:00o~c1ock P. lvI., <br />the City Council met at the City Rall in San Marcos, Texas, with the <br />following members present and participating:, <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />Frank 3. Dietterich, Mayor <br />Calvin M. Allen, Alderman <br />Coy De Viney, Alderman <br />g~~ Beecroft, Alderman <br />Hall'Old G. S-lUi th, Alderman <br /> <br />Others present: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />W. G. Barbee <br />A. Y. McWilliams <br />Paul Rogers <br /> <br />E:i'nes t Morgan <br />C. B. Johil.son <br /> <br />Joe Lodovick <br />John Smith <br /> <br />A quorum being present, the l,~ayor called the meeting to order and <br />the rollowing transpired: <br /> <br />Ernest Morgan, City Attorney, opened the rollowing election returns <br />and read them aloud: <br /> <br />Precinct 10 - Library Building - For -83 <br />Precinct 11 - Carl Smith's Residence - For - 58 <br />Precinct 12 - COlli~ty Court House - For - 36 <br /> <br />Against-86 <br /> <br />A@inat -59 <br />Against-5 <br /> <br />Precinct 13 - City Hall - For - 58 <br /> <br />Against-4o <br /> <br />Totals <br /> <br />For - 235 <br /> <br />Against-190 <br /> <br />The following orclinance was then presented to the Cou:'1cil ror adoption. <br />Alderman smith made a motion that the ordinance canvassing returns <br />and declaring result of election be adopted. Alderman Beecroft seconded <br />the cnetion. A vote was taj{en which resulted =animously in faver of the <br />motion. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CA1NAS3ING RETURNS <br />AND DECLARING R~SULT OF ELECTION <br /> <br />THE ~TAl'E OF TBXAS <br /> <br />COUN1'Y OF RAYS <br /> <br />cn'Y OF' SAN >LARC03 <br /> <br />On this the 15th day of September,1954, the City Council of the <br />City of San Earcos, Tex.as, convened iIiregular session at the regular <br />meeting place thereof with the following members present, to-wit: <br /> <br />Frank E. Dietterich, Mayor, <br />Calvin M. Allen; <br />Coy De Viney; Aldermen <br />Harold G. Smith; <br />S. R. Beecroft; <br />Ann, Ziemke, City Secretary <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />and the following absent: Frank D~ Hill, Jr., <br />constituting a quorum present, when, among other proceedings had, were <br />the following: <br /> <br />Alderman Smith introQuced a resulution and moved its adoption. <br />The motion was seconded b~ Alderman Beecroft. <br /> <br />The motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution pre~ <br />vailed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Aldermen Smith, De Viney, Beecroft, Allen <br /> <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />The resolution is as follows: <br /> <br />vm:SREAS, on the 18th day of August, 195L!-, the City Council of the <br /> <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted a resolution and order ca11~ng an elec- <br />tion to be held in said City on the 14th day of September, 1954, on the I <br />
