SPECIAL /llEETING APRIL 6, 1955' 1. On this the 6th day of April, 1955, A. D., at 9:30 A. M.. the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, met in a special meeting at the City Hall with the following members present and participating: Frank E. Dietterich, Mayor Harold G. Smi th, Alderman Frank D. Hill, Jr., Alderman S. R. Beecroft, Alderman Coy De Viney, Alderman Calvin M. Allen, Alderman i others present were: W. G. Barbee, Ann Ziemke, Ernest Morgan, Jim Walls. A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by Mayor Dietterlch and the'following transpired: The Council canvassed the votes, which were as follows: AL:JERJI1AN #1 ALDERMAN #2 Calvin M. I52 Alderman Hill made a motion that the Election Returns be approved and that an order declaring result of City Officer's Election be adopted by the Council. Alderman De Viney seconded the mo tion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. The order follows these minutes and is a part hereof. Mayor Pro-Tem Harold G. Smith swore Prank E. Dietterich, Calvin M. Allen, and 3. R. Beecroft into their City Offices. After the Oaths of Office were taken,the Council held its meetint';. Mr. Barbee stated that he had made a tentative agreement with Mr. Satterwhite concerning property owned by David Childress, Edwin Lyon and himself, which is located on Mill street. The City is in need of a tract of land adjacent to Mill Street approximately 10 feet wide and 240 feet long, in order that Mill street can be widened to 40 feet along that section. lf~. Barbee told the Council that he had told Mr. Satterwhite that the City might agree to put in a curb and gutter along this piece of land and along Lots 3'and 24 of the Millview Addition, which is also located on Mill street, and furnish him with sewer tans in trade for this tract of land. Mr. Satterwhite had stated that according to the above terms, he would then turn the deeds over to the City. After a discussion, Alderman Smith made a motion that the City accept Mr. Satterwhite's proposal on the trade as stated above. Alderman Hill seconded the motion. fA vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of th~ motion. . I Mr. Barbee then stated that he had talked to Mr. C. E. O'Bryant about trading the small triangle of 1 and jus t of f Hwy. 81 a.Dd Mill street in turn for the small street just behind the triangle. Mr. Barbee stated I that by doing this, the City could use the triangle as a rounded inter- section. Alderman Smith made a motion that the City make the trade with Mr. O'Bryant in which the City would trade Mr. 01Bryant the small street located behind the triangle, for the triangle which would be used to make a rounded curve going off Hwy. 81 on to Mill street. Alderman Hill seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. Mr. Barbee gave a report on the balances of the City and Utili ties Accounts at the end of our fiscal year. L_ _ _ Mr. Barbee stated that he had received a complaint from Mr. A. L. Camp concerning the water from Bollman Industries which stands in ditches t along i/lill street and Uhland Road. It was stated that some of Mr. Camp s
