<br />SPECIAL /llEETING APRIL 6, 1955' <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />On this the 6th day of April, 1955, A. D., at 9:30 A. M.. the City <br />Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, met in a special meeting at <br />the City Hall with the following members present and participating: <br /> <br />Frank E. Dietterich, Mayor <br />Harold G. Smi th, Alderman <br />Frank D. Hill, Jr., Alderman <br />S. R. Beecroft, Alderman <br />Coy De Viney, Alderman <br />Calvin M. Allen, Alderman <br /> <br />i <br /> <br />others present were: W. G. I52 <br />Alderman Hill made a motion that the Election Returns be approved <br />and that an order declaring result of City Officer's Election be <br />adopted by the Council. Alderman De Viney seconded the mo tion. A vote <br />was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. The <br />order follows these minutes and is a part hereof. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Harold G. Smith swore Prank E. Dietterich, Calvin M. <br />Allen, and 3. R. Beecroft into their City Offices. After the Oaths <br />of Office were taken,the Council held its meetint';. <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee stated that he had made a tentative agreement with <br />Mr. Satterwhite concerning property owned by David Childress, <br />Edwin Lyon and himself, which is located on Mill street. The City <br />is in need of a tract of land adjacent to Mill Street approximately <br />10 feet wide and 240 feet long, in order that Mill street can be <br />widened to 40 feet along that section. lf~. Barbee told the Council <br />that he had told Mr. Satterwhite that the City might agree to put <br />in a curb and gutter along this piece of land and along Lots 3'and 24 <br />of the Millview Addition, which is also located on Mill street, and <br />furnish him with sewer tans in trade for this tract of land. <br />Mr. Satterwhite had stated that according to the above terms, he <br />would then turn the deeds over to the City. After a discussion, <br />Alderman Smith made a motion that the City accept Mr. Satterwhite's <br />proposal on the trade as stated above. Alderman Hill seconded the <br />motion. fA vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of th~ <br />motion. . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee then stated that he had talked to Mr. C. E. O'Bryant about <br />trading the small triangle of 1 and jus t of f Hwy. 81 a.Dd Mill street <br />in turn for the small street just behind the triangle. Mr. Barbee stated I <br />that by doing this, the City could use the triangle as a rounded inter- <br />section. Alderman Smith made a motion that the City make the trade with <br />Mr. O'Bryant in which the City would trade Mr. 01Bryant the small street <br />located behind the triangle, for the triangle which would be used to <br />make a rounded curve going off Hwy. 81 on to Mill street. Alderman <br />Hill seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously <br />in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee gave a report on the balances of the City and Utili ties <br />Accounts at the end of our fiscal year. <br /> <br />L_ _ _ <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee stated that he had received a complaint from Mr. A.
