M., the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos; Texas. met in adjourned session at the City Hall of San Marcos. Texas; with the following 8I8IIlbers present and participatingl Absent was I Mayor C. City Secretary A quorlJlll being present the lIIeeUng was caUed to ordu by the Mayor and ~he following transpired I rhe regular order of business was dispensed with to discuss the pur- chase of an excavating-ditching machine. Mayor Allen informed the Council that he. Aldermen Hillburn and Korff had made a trip to several cities and had seen a "GradaU"; manufactured by Warner S. Swasey COIIpany. in operation and this machine met all of the qualifications and requir~nt' they felt were necessary. The extent of the work in the installation of water and sewer lines in the three (3) newly annexed areas alone. this type of machine would pay for itself and it would be to the best interest of the City to purchase one rather than bear the expense of the rental of a IIIBchine tG dG the work. I , The City Mallager showed the Council several catalogues showing the capabilities of several machines and various prices. After some discussion. motion was made by Alderman Korff and seconded by Alderman Davia to author- ize the City Manager to execute "Invitation to BidK on an excavating and grading ..chille with the capabilities of the "Gradall" with the bid opening for saM to set for March 6. 1~8. It was the unanilllOus feeling of the ,COuncil to pay for the ...chine from both the City of San Marcos General Re.,.lllle Fund and City of San Marcos Utilities Fund and. if necessary, the reMainder to be financed by the issuance of special equipment warrants. which received a unanimous approval of the Council. The City Manager wa& directed to include in the KInvitation to Bid" that, the City reserved the right to pay all or pert of the cost by equipment warrants.
