<br />SPECIAL MEETING HElD ON JULY 15. 1958 <br /> <br />-215 <br />097 <br /> <br />On this, the 15th day of July, 1958, at 10:30 o'clock A.M., the <br />Governing Body of the city of San Marcos, Texas, met in a special session <br />at the City Hall of San Marcos, Texas, with the following members present <br />and participating: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-tern S. R. Beecroft <br />Alderman w. M. Davis <br />Alderman B. D. Hillburn <br />Alderman Herman Korff <br />Alderman H. W. Steakley <br /> <br />Also present were: <br /> <br />B. R. Fuller, City Manager <br />Carlyn Tatch, City Secretary <br /> <br />A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order by the <br />Mayor Pro-tern who explained that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss <br />certain aspects of the lack of a fire-fighting contract with Hays County <br />and other matters as might properly come before the Council. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff introduced a Resolution offering the services of <br />the San W~rcos Fire Department when and if requested by the County Judge or <br />any Precinct Commissioner. The Resolution was read in full (see copy attached <br />and part of these minutes). <br /> <br />The provisions of the Resolution were discussed and Alderman Korff <br />made a motion that the Resolution be adopted, which was seconded by Alderman <br />Hillburn, and upon roll call the Ayes and Nayes were as follows: <br /> <br />Ayes: Alderman Hillburn <br />Alderman Korff <br />Alderman Steakley <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Nayes: Alderman Davis <br /> <br />Whereupon the Mayor Pro-tern declared the Resolution adopted and directed the <br />City Manager to forward copies to the County Judge and the San Marcos Record. <br /> <br />At 11 o'clock A. M., bids for a motor vehicle were opened and <br />read aloud. A tabulation of the bids is attached and a part of this record. <br /> <br />On motion of Alderman Steakley and seconded by Alderman Hillburn, <br />the low bid for an 8 Cylinder vehicle was accepted. Upon roll call the Ayes <br />and Nayes were as follows: <br /> <br />Ayes: Alderman Davis <br />Alderman Hillburn <br />Alderman Korff <br />Alderman Steakley <br /> <br />Nayes: None <br /> <br />Whereupon the Mayor Pro-tern declared the low bids of Allen Motor Company, in <br />the net amount of $1,755.00, was accepted with delivery to be made within 48 <br />hours as indicated on the bid. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />There being no further business, the Council, on motion, adjourned <br />at 11:15 A.
