<br />.1 <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING HErD ON APRIL 8. 1959 <br /> <br />On the 8th day of April, 1959, at 8100 A.M., the Governing Body of the <br />City of San Marcos met in adjourned regular session, Mayor C. M. Allen <br />presiding: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Present were: Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Aldermen: S. R. Beecroft <br />W. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hillburn <br />Herman Korff <br />~ <br />City Manager B. R. Fuller <br />City Attorney Ernest Morgan <br />City Secretary Carlyn Tatch <br />Deputy City Secretary Joann Hayes <br />Guests: James Tuttle <br />Fred B. Morgan <br />Colonel Joyce <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Allen. The City Secretary <br />presented Mayor Allen' wi th the envelope designated "To The Mayor" containing <br />the election returns from the City Election held on the 7th day of April, 1959. <br />The votes were tallied as followSl <br /> <br />Mavor, <br />C. M. Allen <br />Fred B. Morgan <br /> <br />575 votes <br />417 votes <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Aldermen: <br />James Tuttle <br />S. R. Beecroft <br />Ruben Ruiz <br /> <br />702 votes <br />698 votes <br />384 votes <br /> <br />Term of Office: <br />PROPOSITION ONE (2 yrs.) <br />PROPOSITION TWO {4 yrs.) <br /> <br />337 votes <br />97 votes <br /> <br />Upon a confirmation of the tally of the votes by the members of the Council <br />it was declared that Calvin M. Allen was re-elected Mayor of the City of San <br />Marcos and that S. R. Beecroft and James Tuttle were elected Aldermen of the <br />City of San Marcos for a term of two years or until their successors should <br />duly qualify. It was also declared that PROPOSITION ONE as stated on the <br />ballot had been approved and PROPOSITION TWO had been rejected. <br /> <br />The oath of office was administered to Calvin M. Allen by City Attorney <br />Ernest Morgan, and then administered to S. R. Beecroft and James Tuttle. <br /> <br />Mayor Allen asked for nominations for Mayor Pro Tempore. Alderman <br />Beecroft nominated Alderman Hillburn as Mayor Pro,Tempore. Alderman Tuttle <br />moved that nominations cease and that Alderman Hillburn be elected by accla- <br />mation. The motion was seconded by Alderman Korff and the ayes and nayes were <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Ayes: Beecroft <br />I Davis <br />Hi llburn <br />Kor ff <br />Tuttle <br />Nayes: None <br /> <br />Whereupon Mayor Allen declared that Alderman Hillburn had been elected Mayor <br />Pro Tempore of the City of San Marcos for a period of one year or until his <br />successor shall duly qualify. <br />
