/ 5-~'t.~.: REGULAR MEETING HElD ON APRIL 12, 196() On the 12th day of April, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. the Governing Body of the City of ~an Marcos met in regular session, at the City Hall, and, in the absence of the Mayor, Mayor Pro-tern James Tuttle presided: I Present: Mayor Pro-tern James Tuttle Aldermen: ~. R. Beecroft W. M. Davis B. D. Hil1burn Herman Korff City Manager B. R. Fuller City ~ecretary Judy Brackett Mrs. Roland Man~ke, AA~ Guests: Mr. Paul Rogers Mr. Wallace Barber Mr. Caesar Damon Mr. Lloyd Martin The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Jhe ~gu1ar order of business was dispensed with to hear Mr. paul Rogers. Mr. ~ogers asked the city to provide fire protection to Aquarena and surrounding buildings by extending water lines. Mr. Rogers stated this protection would warrant a considerable reduction in his pre~ent ~nsurance rate. The Council referred the~atter to the City Manager to get estimate~ of cost of laying the line required. The subject wi11 be di~cussed at the next regulqr meeting. I Mr. Rogers related to the Council the danger to skin divers in the lake water where boats are operating. Mayor Pro-tem,Tuttle stated the matter would be referred to the City Attorney for an opinion and if in order, to draft an ordinance prohibiting persons from entering the lake waters. The proposed 1960-61 Budget was p~esented for final hearing. Alderman Korff moved the budget be accepted ab amended, Alderman Hillburn 2nd. The ayes and naye~ were as fOllows: Ayes: Alderman Beecroft Davis Hillburn Korff Nayes: None Whereupon Mayor Pro-tern Tuttle declared the motion passed. /, Alderman Korff introduced an ordinance entitled · An Ordinance Levying Taxes For The U~e and ~upport of the Municipal Government of the City of ~an.Marco~, Texas, To Provide a Sinking Fund For.The Retirement of The Bonded Debt of ::oaid City and To Provide For Perma- nent Improvements" and moved its adoption. The Ordinance was read in full and seconded by Alderman Davis. The ayes and nayes were as folloWS: ,Ayes: Alderman Beecroft Davis Hillburn Korff I .Nayes: None Whereupon Mayor Pro-tern Tuttle declared the ordinance passed, approved, and adopted. After some discussion on naming the Board of Equalization, Alderman Hillburn moved appointment of the board be postponed for two weeks.
