<br />/ 5-~'t.~.: <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING HElD ON APRIL 12, 196() <br /> <br />On the 12th day of April, 1960, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. the Governing <br />Body of the City of ~an Marcos met in regular session, at the City Hall, <br />and, in the absence of the Mayor, Mayor Pro-tern James Tuttle presided: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Pro-tern James Tuttle <br />Aldermen: ~. R. Beecroft <br />W. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hil1burn <br />Herman Korff <br />City Manager B. R. Fuller <br />City ~ecretary Judy Brackett <br />Mrs. Roland Man~ke, AA~ <br />Guests: Mr. Paul Rogers <br />Mr. Wallace Barber <br />Mr. Caesar Damon <br />Mr. Lloyd Martin <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. <br /> <br />Jhe ~gu1ar order of business was dispensed with to hear Mr. paul <br />Rogers. Mr. ~ogers asked the city to provide fire protection to Aquarena <br />and surrounding buildings by extending water lines. Mr. Rogers stated <br />this protection would warrant a considerable reduction in his pre~ent <br />~nsurance rate. The Council referred the~atter to the City Manager to <br />get estimate~ of cost of laying the line required. The subject wi11 be <br />di~cussed at the next regulqr meeting. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Rogers related to the Council the danger to skin divers in the <br />lake water where boats are operating. Mayor Pro-tem,Tuttle stated the <br />matter would be referred to the City Attorney for an opinion and if in <br />order, to draft an ordinance prohibiting persons from entering the lake <br />waters. <br /> <br />The proposed 1960-61 Budget was p~esented for final hearing. Alderman <br />Korff moved the budget be accepted ab amended, Alderman Hillburn 2nd. The <br />ayes and naye~ were as fOllows: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Alderman Beecroft <br />Davis <br />Hillburn <br />Korff <br /> <br />Nayes: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Whereupon Mayor Pro-tern Tuttle declared the motion passed. <br /> <br />/, <br /> <br />Alderman Korff introduced an ordinance entitled · An Ordinance <br />Levying Taxes For The U~e and ~upport of the Municipal Government <br />of the City of ~an.Marco~, Texas, To Provide a Sinking Fund For.The <br />Retirement of The Bonded Debt of ::oaid City and To Provide For Perma- <br />nent Improvements" and moved its adoption. The Ordinance was read in <br />full and seconded by Alderman Davis. The ayes and nayes were as folloWS: <br /> <br />,Ayes: <br /> <br />Alderman Beecroft <br />Davis <br />Hillburn <br />Korff <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />.Nayes: None <br />Whereupon Mayor Pro-tern Tuttle declared the ordinance passed, approved, <br />and adopted. <br /> <br />After some discussion on naming the Board of Equalization, Alderman <br />Hillburn moved appointment of the board be postponed for two weeks. <br />
