<br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 21. 1960 <br /> <br />On the 21st day of September, 1960, at 3:00 o'clock P.M., the <br />Governin9 Body of the City of San Marcos met in adjourned regular <br />session, Mayor C. M. Allen presiding. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Present: Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Aldermen: ~. R. Beecroft <br />W. M. Davis <br />B. D. Hillburn <br />Herman Korff <br />James Tuttle <br />City Manager B. R.Fuller <br />City ~ecretary Judy Brackett <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mrs. Roland Manske, MUW <br />Mr. R. L. Hyatt <br />Mrs. E. O. Bethke, Record <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />The regular order of business was dispensed with to hear <br />Mr. R. L. Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt asked that the City lease him the small <br />field of the Sewage Disposal tract next to his house. He had been <br />leasing all the land at the Sewage Disposal Plant, but by letter dated <br />February 11, 1960, Mr. Hyatt was notified that the lease would not be <br />renewed for 1961. It was the unanimous decision of the Council that <br />no lease be made, as the City has plans for the use of the property <br />(~ee Volume 23, Page 172). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a tabulation of the bids received <br />and opened on September 12th for a police patrol car and an admin- <br />istrative car. After a review of the bids received, Alderman Korff <br />moved that the bid of the Allen Motor Company for Item One, 1961 Dodge <br />"~eneca Police Special", in the net amount of $1,880.00 be accepted. <br />This motion was seconded by Alderman Tuttle and, upon roll call,the <br />motion carried. No action was taken on the purchase of an administrative <br />vehicle. <br /> <br />Alderman Hillburn introduced an ordinance and moved its <br />adoption. The ordinance entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO USE A SPEAR GUN AS <br />A MEANS OF SHOOTING OR TAKING FISH, OR ATTEMPTING TO <br />SHOOT OR TAKE FISH, FROM THE SAN MARCOS RIVER WITHIN <br />THE CORPORATE LIMIT~ OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, MAKING <br />IT UNLAWFUL TO DISCHARGE A ~PEAR GUN IN OR INTO THE <br />SAN MARCOS RIVER; MAKE THE POSSESSION OF A SPEAR GUN <br />IN THE SAN MARCO::; RIVER PRIMA FACIE EVIDENCE THAT SUCH <br />~PEAR GUN IS BEING USED AS A MEANS OF SHOOTING OR <br />TAKING OF FISH; PROVIDING THAT ALL PERSONS PARTICIPATING <br />IN OR AIDING OR ABETTING OR ASSISTING IN THE VIOLATION <br />OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE GUILTY AS PRINCIPALS; DEFINING <br />TERMti; CONTAINING SEVERALABILITY PROVISION; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR PUNISHMENT <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />was read in full. The motion was seconded by Alderman Korff.
