Fuller <br /> <br />Guests I <br /> <br />Walter Buckner RECORD <br />Bill Veidt KCNY <br />Mrs. Jerry Veidt KCNY <br />Jack Williams, Henry Kyle <br />Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Cummings, <br />Mrs. Sherrell, Mrs. Kelly, <br />Mrs. Combs, and Steve Gregg <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor who explained <br />that the regular meeting had been adjourned to discuss perpetual care <br />in the San Marcos Cemetery, resignation of the City Attorney, truck <br />loading in the metered zone and such other matters as might properly <br />be brought to the attention of the Council. <br /> <br />The first item of business was trucks loading and unloading <br />in the metered zone without paying the required meter fee. It was the <br />informal decision of the Council that the trucks would be permitted to <br />park without paying the fee when actually engaged in 1088ing or unload- <br />ing. At all other times parking fees will be paid. <br /> <br />Alderman Younger brought up for discussion a letter he had <br />received from Mr. Floyd Graef, a:tenaot in the First National Bank Bldg., <br />requesting permission to park in the metered zone upon payment of a <br />reasonable monthly ree. It was the decision of the Council that this <br />was contrary to established policy and the request was denied. <br /> <br />The Mayor called on the spokesman ror the Cemetery Association, <br />Mr. Jack Williams, to brier the Council on the perpetual care for the <br />San Marcos Cemetery. Mr. Williams thanked the Council for the splendid <br />cooperation they had given the Association in working out the many com- <br />plex phases of perpetual care. He explained that it was a project which <br />had been needed for many years and it appeared that it had now succeeded. <br />He further explained that the Cemetery Association would not disband but <br />would continue to function and to act as a liasioo public relations group <br />between the cemetery and the Council. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />It was decided by the Council that the City would assume opera- <br />tion of the cemetery on September 1, 1961, at which time the payment of <br />the $100 per month to the Cemetery Association would cease. On Septem- <br />ber 1, 1961 all unsold lots, grave spaces, etc., in the Old Original <br />Cemetery, the McGeehee Addition, Roselawn Addition and the A. M. Rams~ <br />Addition will be sold with perpetual care only. A section in the South- <br />west corner of the Cemetery will be platted for sale as individual grave <br />spaces and may be purchased without perpetual care. Persons desiring <br />to sell unused portions of lots to the City may do so at $10 per grave <br />space. It was the further decision of the Council that the City would <br />
