<br />IFj <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JANUARY 29, 1964 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Frank Taylor <br /> <br />Aldermen: <br /> <br />Wm. L. Moore, M.D. <br />Will iam C. Pool <br />Ru.ben Ruiz <br />H. Garland Stokes <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City Manager <br />City Secretary <br /> <br />B.R. Fuller <br />Dorothy 0.' Worrell <br /> <br />Visitors = <br /> <br />Bob Scott, Mrs. A. McMullin, Mrs. J. Lloyd Read, <br />Mrs. J~rri Veidt and .Louis Ma~got <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7=00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mrs. Veidt called to the attention of the Council the ne~d for re-upholster- <br />ing the furniture at the Recreation Hall in City Park. She stressed the <br />importance of refurbishing the Hall while the Wally Byam Caravan Rally is in <br />progress. The Mayor thanked ,Mrs. Veidt for her interest and assured her the <br />, matter would be taken under consideration; <br /> <br />Three Petitions for Annexation were received by the Counci1. Alderman <br />Stokes moved that the Petition from the Highway Department for. annexation <br />of irmile on State 80 toward Blanco River be accepted. Alderman Ruiz <br />, seconded the motion, and on roll call, the followinSj vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Moore, Pool, Ruiz, <br />None <br /> <br />Stokes <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Petition officially received by the Council. <br /> <br />Alderman Moore moved that a Petition from Mr; Billy J. Creel for annexation <br />of Lot 4 and half of Lot 5, Block 5, Oak Heights Addition, be accepted. <br />Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion and on roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Petition officially received by the Council. <br /> <br />Alderman Stokes moved that a Petition for annexation of a parcel of land <br />(being the north part of the Nichols property) by the Tuttle Lumber Company <br />be accepted, subject to meeting all provisions ,of the Sub""division Ordinance <br />at such time as the land may be sub-divided. 'Alderman Pool seconded the <br />motion and on roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes <br />NAY I None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the Petition officially received by the Council. <br /> <br />Alderman Stokes moved that the City Manager be directed to make application <br />to the M K & T Railroad for a crossing on East Hutchison Street. Alderman <br />Pool seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced the matter of a need for opening Thorp Lane to give <br />the Warden Rest Home access to Loop 82, providing an entrance to the front <br />of their building, and to the Hospital. Alderman Stokes moved that the <br />City Manager be authorized to open Thorp Lane from the boundary of the <br />Warden property to Loop 82.
