Tom Buckner. .J.T. .Baniste... <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at I ;00 p.m. He stated <br />as. the prime reason for a.special meeting. the need for seeking <br />Professional help in the preparation of an applicati~n for a <br />planning grant for the G.N.R.P. He noted that the City Manage.... <br />in a Memorandum .tothe Counci I. had recommended 180m Hale and <br />Associates of Austin for the po...tion of the work which cannot <br />be done. by Ci ty personne I. The matte... was discussed by members <br />of the Council. the Mayor pointing out that the City Manager's <br />...ecommenda1t:ion stipulated that payment for services performed <br />by Isom Hale on this project was contingent upon the application <br />being app...oved, the planning grant made, and the local Public <br />Agency contracting with the City of San Marcos fo... such se...vices. <br />After fu...ther discussion. Alde...man Tuttle moved that Isom Hale & <br />Associates bl;) associated with the City in the preparation of the <br />application for a planning advance for G.N.R.P.. to perform that <br />portion of the work that cannot be perfo...med by City pe...sonnel; <br />and further. th.at payment for such serv ices be conti ngent on the <br />application being approved. the planning grant being issued. and <br />the local Public Agency cont...acting with the Cityand/or its <br />associates. for planning and engineering work. Alderman Serur <br />sec.onded the motion. J.T. Banister. Director of the local Public <br />Agency. was ...ecognized f...om the floor. He entered into the dis- <br />cussion of the motion before the Council, and made a formal re- <br />quest for a .copy of the Minutes of the meet i ng in progress. The <br />City Manager was called u~on to clarify procedure in preparing <br />an application for a planning grant. Tuttle <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />A map of San Marcos showing the boundaries of the G.N.R.P. was <br />exhibited by the Mayor. He recalled to the Counci I that when <br />location of a new public school was under consideration, the <br />Council had made a slight change in the boundaries of the pro- <br />jected G.N.R.P.. in order to assist the San Marcos Independent <br />School District. Since a site far removed from the G.N.R.P. <br />had now been chosen. the Mayor said the original boundary line <br />approved by the Council would be in effect until such time as <br />approval for the new project is required. <br /> <br />== <br />:::c <br />>-- <br />~ <br />,~ <br /> <br />Alderman Serur asked the City Manager about purchase of the <br />two cars for the Police Department approved by the Council <br />at a recent meeting.
