Tuttle <br /> <br />Visitors: <br /> <br />Mrs. Mary Hale Etheridge, Mrs. Jerri Veidt <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to o~der at 10 a.m. Members <br />of the Counci 1 signed Consent to Meeting. <br /> <br />Mrs. Mary Hale Etheridge was introdu~ed to Councilmen as <br />the new reporter for The Hays County Citizen. <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance appointing a Deputy City <br />Secretary, and proposed nam i ngMrs. Sue Fomby, the City Man- <br />ager's secretary. Mr. Ful IeI' eXplained it was customary to <br />have a deputy to act in the event of the absence of the City <br />Secretary. Alderman Pool move~ ~~at Mrs. Sue Fomby be named <br />Deputy City Secretary in the Ordinance to be adopted. <br />Alderman Damon seconded the motion and on 1'01 I cal I, the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, Froh, Pool, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />AI~erman Damon commended the City Manager for the improved <br />condi~ion of City Hall, especially the removal of the old <br />sign, and the fresh paint on the facade of the bui Iding. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The possibi lity that the new HAtom SmasherH to be bui It by <br />the Atomic Energy Commission might be located near Austin <br />was discussed by t~e Counci I. Alderman Damon said it had <br />been his experience that it was helpful to have neighboring <br />towns indicate their support in a. smi liar situation.
