Mr. Gonza-
lez advised that the City of San Marcos did not presently have any
standards and specification guidelines for construction. The City of
San Marcos needs to adopt the City of Austin'~s standard details and
specifications for construction and at some future time, possibly
within six months to a year, we could make a presentation for stand-
ards that would he in line with our City. Most of the City of Austin's
standard detafls and specifications follow the Highway Department'~s
guidelines, and there is plenty of flexibility for modifications to
be made if there are situations which are unique to the City of San
Marcos. Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the City of Austin'~s standard
details and specifications for construction on the recommendation
of City Engineer Jim Sykes and Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously.
