<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />The Minutes of August 8 , 1966 wet'e approved as presented.

<br />Rodgers T. Storey came before the Counci I to again request
<br />authorization for a bui Iding permit-for a Texaco Service Station
<br />at the corner of Colorado and Water Streets. Mr. Storey present-
<br />ed aplat of his property showin3 the proposition he wished to
<br />~make ~o the City, se~ attached. He offered to trade 16 feet on
<br />the Water St. side of hi-;-property, for 16 feet on the west side
<br />of his property, which is ~he width of an al ley not in use, be-
<br />longing to the City. The fact that Mr. Storey's property is with-
<br />in the GNRP area had created a problem for planners that had been
<br />brought before the Plannin~ & Zoning Commission, the LPA Board
<br />and the CityCounci I sever'al times without an acceptable solution.
<br />Alderman KOr'ff asked if the Planning & Zoning Commission had
<br />approved the present plat and proposition. Mr. Storey replied:

<br />drew the plat. The last decision of the Commission was to
<br />turn it back to the City Counci I for decision,. I was told I
<br />would get an answer within 90 days, and it has been much longer
<br />than that", After ,more discussion, Alperman Korff moved that
<br />the sketch be submitted to the Planning & Zoning Commission
<br />and Planners MOr'mon, Mok & Green,and that the Ci~y approve a
<br />bu il J ;"8 i--""'",,, it ,,~ 'nth groups approve it. Mr. Storey sa i d:
<br />"The Coun~i I haa final authority. The Planning & Zoning Commiss-
<br />ion has already tur~ed it back to the City". Mr. Korff said:
<br />"let them come up with a recommendation. I'll ask Roberts to
<br />call a special meeting". The_Mayor' said: 'The Chai.rman of the
<br />Planning & Zoning Commission talked to me and approved this".
<br />Alderman Whittenberg seconded the Korff motion. The City Manag-
<br />er reminded the Counci I that it was long past the promised 90-day
<br />period, after which the Counci I had promised a decision.
<br />Alderman Korff \.Jithdrew hi,s motion, with consent of the seconder.
<br />Alderman Pool moved that the Counc; I approve Mr. Storey's request
<br />for a permit. Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion, and on
<br />roll call, the fol lowing vote was recorded:
