Richard Trevino <br /> <br />The Mayor cal led the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />The Rev. Richard Trevino, Pastor of St. John's Church, gave <br />the Invocation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Bids on a traffic light system were received and opened. <br />Econolite entered a bid of $19,601. Signal Engineering <br />entered a bid of $20,450., with a 4% discount, and alternate <br />features which proved to be more advantageous. Douglas B. Byrne, <br />engineer for Signal Engineering Co., was present to explain his <br />bid, and to answer questions. Dr. Pool moved acceptance of the <br />Signal Engineering Co. bid. Mr. Korff seconded the motion and <br />on rol I call, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Dr. Ben Copass, Corporation Judge, came before the Counci I to <br />report the need for an ordinance officially designating the <br />location of existing traffic lights. Counci Imen had received <br />copies of a letter from the City Attorney verifying the need <br />for such an ordinance. Mr. Damon moved that the City Attorney <br />be requested to draw up an ordinance covering the installation <br />of traffic I ights and stop signs. Mr. Whittenberg seconded the <br />motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Oamon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Poo I introduced an ord i nance author i zing the issuance of <br />General Purpose Warrants in the amount of $47,000. The ordinance <br />~as read in ful I.
