Jerry Bob Taylor, Mrs. Laura L. <br />Ramsay, Mrs. Hazel Duncan, Jerry Zavesky, <br />Hollis Smith, Jim Brown, Travis Roberts, <br />Galen Wel Inicki, Jerri Veidt, Ken Compton, <br />Bob Barton, Wil lard Thorp <br /> <br />The Mayor cal led the meeting to order at 7:30p.m. The Rev. <br />Jerry Bob Taylor, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, gave the <br />Invocation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Minutes of the meeti ngs of February 26 and March 4, 1968 <br />were approved as presented, on motion of Mr. Damon and second <br />of Dr. Craddock. <br /> <br />An Ordinance authorizing the sale of $500,000 of the City's <br />Street Improvement Bonds was introduced. Counci Iman Pool <br />moved that the Ordinance be adopted as an emergency measure. <br />Counci Iman Damon seconded the motion and on roll cal" the <br />fa II ow i ng vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Poof, Serur <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance adopting the Southern Standard <br />Bui Iding Code, with amendmenis. He stated the Planning & Zoning <br />Commfssion had recommended its adoption. The Mayor cal led on <br />Bui Iding Inspector Jack Major to discuss the Code with the Counci I. <br />Mr. Major said the Code had been under stud~for two years. He <br />report~d on a workshop with local bui Iders and contractors and <br />the Board of Adjustment and Appeals. He said it had resulted in <br />endorsement by both groups. Copies of. the Code, a bound book, <br />and amendments recommended by the study group were available for <br />the Counci I. After Mr. Major explained the advantages of the <br />stricter code, and a general discussion, €6uncilman Damon moved <br />approval of the Southern Standard Bui Iding Code, with amendments. <br />Councilman Korff seconded the motion and on roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Oooinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />- <br />:: <br />;>w <br />..... <br />- <br />r;\I <br />
