Fruediger <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes of the June 24, 1968 meeting were approved as presented. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Warren T. Freudiger, Executive Director of the City of San Marcos <br />Housing Authority, appeared before the Council to give a progress <br />and status report on the Development Program of Project TEX 87-4. <br />Bids will be called for about September 1 for construction of <br />61 duplex dwellings, 1 triplex, and adminstrative offices. Estimated <br />cost is abDYt $2,010,000. An Analysis of Preliminary Planning <br />Cost of Project TEX87-4 is attached as a part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a recommendation from the Parks and Recreation <br />Board concerning a concession to the Holy Name Society for the <br />operation of i snow-cone business in City Park during the Summer. <br />Dr. Craddock move'd that the Holy Name Society be given a concession <br />to operate a snoW-cone stand in City Park during the Summer, provided <br />they conform to the City's Health Code; and that the City receive <br />20% of the gross receipts. Mr. Smith seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />The Mayor read a letter from James Burwell, City Sanitarian, regard- <br />ing operation of a snow-cone machine in compliance with the City's <br />Health Code. A general discussion ensued. Dr. Craddock moved that <br />the Council look into having a ordinance prepared to cover operation <br />of food stands out of doors at the Park. Mr. Flores seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Serur Proposed the name of Herman Korff to fill the vacancy <br />on the Board of Equalization. Councilman Smith moved that Herman <br />Korff be appointed to the Board of Equalization. Councilman <br />Dannelley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced Winter Logan, who carne before the Council to <br />discuss the current problem over use of trailer facilities in the <br />Park. Mr. and Mrs. Logan represent the City as a "welcoming <br />committee" for triiler rallies in San Marcos. Mr. Logan outlined <br />clearly the different aspects of the problem. After discussion, <br />Dr. Craddock moved that the Council study the feasibility and <br />possibility of utilizing the park property for two different <br />purposes (trailer faciltiies and recreation areas for local residents). <br />
