Ellis Thomas, pastor of First Methodist United Church, <br />gave the Invocation. <br /> <br />Or. Pool moved <br />as presented. <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />approval of the July 22 & July 30, 1968 Minutes, <br />Dr. Craddock ~econded the motion, which passed <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a matter tabled at a previous meeting for <br />further study: a three-way contract between the City of San Marcos, <br />the Texas State Department of. Health, and Lockwood, Andrews & <br />Newnam, Inc. for a Comprehensive Plan. Councilman 'Smith moved <br />approval of the contract, and authorization for the Mayor to sign <br />for the, City. Or. Craddock seconded the motion, andoriroll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, 'Serur"Smith,lavesky <br />None <br />Pool <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter signed by property -(Mners and <br />business men in the 300 block of LBJ Drive. The letter ,a request <br />that additional parki.ng meters be installed in the block; is attached <br />and made a part of the Minutes. F~ancis Mauldi~spoke to the <br />question, since his property was involved. He claimed that placing <br />meters by his used-car lot would not alleviate the parking problems. <br />He suggested that employers poll their own employe'es to learn <br />whether some were not parking inavai1able' 'spaces eight 'to ten hours <br />a day. He said iF meter& were worked regularly every thirty minutes, <br />there ,would be more parking space for shoppers. Councilman Smith <br />moved that 'the City Manager and the Police Department m<lke a survey <br />of all parking meters in the City to see if more meters should be <br />put in. Or. Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Or. Pool moved that the Council approve a change of zoning on <br />8.128 acres out of Juan Veramendi Survey #2 from "R-l"(Resiaential) <br />to "C" (Commercial), as recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Councilman Dannelley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
