Saunders, Mr. and Mrs, Seferino Garcia, <br />Clarence Harborth, Charlotte Crisp, <br />Bill Veidt, Nancy Kreczmer, Kenneth Finch <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />MinUtes of the January 13. 1969 meeting were approved as <br />presented, on motion of Mr. Zavesky and second of Mr. Smith. <br /> <br />Kenneth Finch, of Ernst & Ernst, presented the City's Audit for <br />Fiscal Year October 1, 1967 to Sept. 30, 1968. In introductory <br />remarks, Mr. Finch reported the City of San Marcos to be in <br />better financial condition than at any time in recent years. A <br />copy of the Audit Report is on file in the City Secretary's office. <br /> <br />Mr. Robe~t J. Uhr, Di~trict Manager, United Gas Corporation. <br />appeared before the Council to discuss the company's proposed <br />16% rate increase. After Mr. Uhr's presentation, Dr. Craddock <br />moved. that the Mayor a,ppoint a committee to study the proposed <br />rate inc;rease and present a report and recommendation to the <br />Council. Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />The Mayor appointed Dr. Craddock, Mr. Zavesky and Mr. Dannelley <br />to a committee to make a study of the proposed, gas rate increase. <br />Dr.Pool questioned whether the committee might not need profession- <br />al advice, and suggested Dr. Robert Montgomery be contacted as a <br />consultant. Mr. Uhr said personnel of United Gas would assist the <br />com~itte~ in any way possible. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dan 'Farlow appeared before .the Council as spokesman for <br />"Bridgebuilders", a cross-section ci~ic organization interested <br />in developing mo~e";ecreation areas in San Marcos. A report on <br />the Dunbar Area Recreation proposal had previously been distrib- <br />uted to Councilmen. A plat of the proposed d~velopment on the <br />former Dunbar School grounds, prepared by Harvey Miller, was <br />exhibited with the report. Mr. Zavesky comment~d that one <br />problem would be the cost of installing and maintaining proper <br />lighting for the playground. He suggested that an attempt be <br />made to interest LCRA in providing lighting. Mr. Farlow said <br />
