<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A
<br />CONTIGUOUS TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING APPROX-
<br />IMATELY 133 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, LOCATED WITH-
<br />IN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF SAID
<br />CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUND-
<br />ARIES; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF 'SAID
<br />CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID TRACT; GRANTING TO
<br />THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TRACT ALL THE RIGHTS
<br />AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY;
<br />BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS
<br />AND ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SAID
<br />CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />provided an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard
<br />at a public hearing on December 8, 1980 on the annexation by
<br />the City of San Marcos, Texas of approximately 133 acres, more
<br />or less, out of the J.M. Veramendi League No. 2, and being more
<br />particularly described by metes and bounds as follows to-wit:
<br />
<br />BEGINNING at a re-entrant corner of the existing
<br />City Limits on the North line of the FairlaWn
<br />Addition, a- subdivision of.record in Volume L20,
<br />Page 368~ at its intersection with a line 300 feet
<br />SoutheasJt of the Southeast line of Interstate High-
<br />way 35 for the ~ost Westerly Southwest corner of the
<br />tract herein described;
<br />
<br />THENCE, with the existing City Limits line, and the
<br />projection therof, same being 300 feet Southeast of
<br />the Southeast line of Interstate Highway 35, as
<br />established by-an annexation ordinance adopted by the
<br />City of San Marcos and recorded in Volume 41, Page
<br />100, of the Minutes of the San Marcos City Council,
<br />in a Northeasterly direction to the approximate center-
<br />line of the Blanco River for the most Northwesterly
<br />corner of~ the tract herein described;
<br />
<br />THENCE, following the approximate centerline of the
<br />said Blanco River, downstream, to its intersection
<br />with the projection of the Northeast line of Lot
<br />Block 2, of the said Fairlawn Addition, for the' most
<br />Southeasterly corner of the tract herein described;
<br />
<br />THENCE, with the projection thereof and the Northeast
<br />line of the said Lot 4, Block 2, Fairlawn Addition,
<br />in a Northwesterly direction, joining the existing
<br />City Limits at the East corner of the said Lot 4,
<br />Block 2, and continuing on, with the Northeasterly
<br />and Northerly line~of the said Fairlawn Addition
<br />to the POINT OF BEGINNING, containing 133 acres of
<br />land, more or less; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, notice of said public hearing was published in the
<br />San Marcos Daily Record, a newspaper having general circulation
<br />in said city and in the territory proposed to be annexed, on
<br />November 28, 1980, a date not 'more than twenty (20) days nor less
<br />than ten (10) days prior to said public hearing; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, said approximately 133 acres, more or less, are
<br />located within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of fhe City of
<br />San Marcos, Texas and not within the extraterritorial jurisdic-
<br />tion of any other city; and,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, said approximately 133 acres, more or less, are
<br />contiguous and adjacent to the current boundaries of the City of
<br />San Marcos, Texas; now, therefore,
