<br />1972 - 8 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENTITtEnWA'l'ER' AND SEWER <br />AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL BY DELETING THE PRESENT SECTIONS 30-1, <br />30-2, AND 30-5 OF ARTICLE I THEREOF; SUBSTITUTING NEW <br />SECTIONS UNDER THE SAME NUMBERS; CREATING NEW SE.CTIONS <br />30-7 DEPOSIT AND 30-8 RECONNECT FEES; DELETING THE PRESENT <br />SECTIONS 30-27, 30-28 AND 30-35 OF ARTICLE II THEREOF; <br />SUBSTITUTING NEW SECTIONS UNDER THE SAME NUMBERS; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />That the present Section 30-1 of the Code of Ordinances of <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, be deleted and an entirely new <br />se~tion under the same number be substituted therefor, so that' <br />said section shall henceforth read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 30-1 WATER TAPS GENERALLY <br /> <br />No water shall be sold to any person unless application has <br />been made to and granted by the City for connection of the <br />applicant's private water line with the water system of the City. <br />In this connection each single family dwelling unit and. each <br />dwelling unit within a duplex shall be individually metered. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />That the present Section 30-2 of the Code of Ordinances of <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, be deleted and an entirely new <br />section under the same number be substituted therefor, so that <br />said section shall henceforth read as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 30-2 WATER TAP FEES <br /> <br />(A) When a new connection is made to the City water system <br />a fee is to be paid by the owner of the property to the Tax <br />Assessor-Collector and he shall obtain a receipt of payment prior <br />to the time such connection is made. <br /> <br />(B) The cost of connection to the City water system shall <br />be as follows: <br /> <br />5/8 inch meter - $110.00 <br />above 5/8 inch - actual cost plus ten percent <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />That the present Section 30-5 of the Code of Ordinances of <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, be deletEld and an entirely new <br />section under the same number shall be substituted therefor, so <br />that said section shall henceforth read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 30-5 OWNER TO PAY FOR SEWER CONNECTION <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The cost of laying sewer pipe and connection to the City <br />sewer system shall be borne by and paid for by the owner of <br />the oroperty upon which the improvements are to be located. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />That a totally new section numbered 30-7 be added to the <br />Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, so that <br />said section shall henceforth read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 30-7 DEPOSIT <br /> <br />All new residential connections for Utility services shall pay <br />a Ten Dollar ($10.00) deposit and all commercial establishments <br />shall pay a deposit equal to one and one-half 'times (1 :5) their <br />estimated average monthly bill. . <br /> <br /> <br />Ii, <br /> <br />
