1972 - 8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENTITtEnWA'l'ER' AND SEWER AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL BY DELETING THE PRESENT SECTIONS 30-1, 30-2, AND 30-5 OF ARTICLE I THEREOF; SUBSTITUTING NEW SECTIONS UNDER THE SAME NUMBERS; CREATING NEW SE.CTIONS 30-7 DEPOSIT AND 30-8 RECONNECT FEES; DELETING THE PRESENT SECTIONS 30-27, 30-28 AND 30-35 OF ARTICLE II THEREOF; SUBSTITUTING NEW SECTIONS UNDER THE SAME NUMBERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: I. That the present Section 30-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be deleted and an entirely new se~tion under the same number be substituted therefor, so that' said section shall henceforth read as follows: SECTION 30-1 WATER TAPS GENERALLY No water shall be sold to any person unless application has been made to and granted by the City for connection of the applicant's private water line with the water system of the City. In this connection each single family dwelling unit and. each dwelling unit within a duplex shall be individually metered. II. That the present Section 30-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be deleted and an entirely new section under the same number be substituted therefor, so that said section shall henceforth read as follows: I SECTION 30-2 WATER TAP FEES (A) When a new connection is made to the City water system a fee is to be paid by the owner of the property to the Tax Assessor-Collector and he shall obtain a receipt of payment prior to the time such connection is made. (B) The cost of connection to the City water system shall be as follows: 5/8 inch meter - $110.00 above 5/8 inch - actual cost plus ten percent III. That the present Section 30-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be deletEld and an entirely new section under the same number shall be substituted therefor, so that said section shall henceforth read as follows: SECTION 30-5 OWNER TO PAY FOR SEWER CONNECTION I The cost of laying sewer pipe and connection to the City sewer system shall be borne by and paid for by the owner of the oroperty upon which the improvements are to be located. IV. That a totally new section numbered 30-7 be added to the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, so that said section shall henceforth read as follows: SECTION 30-7 DEPOSIT All new residential connections for Utility services shall pay a Ten Dollar ($10.00) deposit and all commercial establishments shall pay a deposit equal to one and one-half 'times (1 :5) their estimated average monthly bill. .
