Womack <br />Mark Taylor <br />Stephanie Langenkamp <br />Carol Barrett <br />Tom Taggart <br />Mike Baker <br />Howard Williams <br />Rodney Cobb <br />Laurie Anderson <br />Rodney Gonzales <br />Richard Mendoza <br />Mark Brinkley <br />Bob Higgs <br /> <br />Also present: Phil Neighbors, Dan Rogers, Gloria Salazar, Tom Rowe, <br />Camille Phillips, Kelly Franks, Ed Theriot, James Frye, Jan Clark, Shelley <br />Goodwin and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Toby Tobias lead <br />the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Citizen Comment Period. 1) Don Nash stated he <br />wished to speak regarding Item 7, Hotel/Conference Center. He stated he <br />supports the Hotel/Conference Center. He stated homeowners cannot <br />continue to pay the burden for projects. He feels this project would <br />bring in additional future funds. 2) Ruben Becerra stated he wished to <br />speak regarding Item 7, Hotel/Conference Center. He stated he supports <br />the Hotel/Conference Center at either site the Council has discussed. He <br />stated he feels the Hotel/Conference Center would help bring more of a <br />draw to the City if it was located at Aquarena. 3) John Schott stated he <br />wished to speak regarding Item 7, Hotel/Conference Center. He stated he <br />has been a citizen of San Marcos for 27 years. He stated he supports the <br />Hotel/ Conference Center because he feels it would bring in jobs, clean <br />industry and expand the City tax base. He feels if the Council does not <br />support this project it might send a message that San Marcos does not want <br />
