RESOLUTION 2011- 23 <br />• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FIVE POLICE <br />PURSUIT INTERCEPTOR VEHICLES AND ONE MID SIZE NON - <br />POLICE PACKAGE SEDAN FROM GRIFFITH FORD -SAN MARCOS <br />FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF <br />$131,334.11; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE PURCHASING DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITAL <br />1. The local vendor, Griffith Ford -San Marcos submitted a bid for five police pursuit <br />interceptor vehicles and one non - police package sedan (IFB 211 -026) that is $1,262.11 higher <br />than the low bid or .97% and the City wishes to award the purchase of these vehicles to Griffith <br />Ford -San Marcos as a local vendor in accordance with Section 271.905 of the Texas Local <br />Government Code. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The purchase of five police pursuit interceptor vehicles and one non - police <br />package sedan (IFB 211 -026) for the Police Department in the total amount of $131,334.11 from <br />Griffith Ford -San Marcos is approved. <br />PART 2. The Purchasing Manager, Cheryl Pantermuehl, is authorized to execute the <br />appropriate purchasing documents on behalf of the City. <br />PART 3.
