<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND
<br />DECLARING RESULTS OF THE REGULAR CITY ELECTION
<br />HELD APRIL 3, 1982, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECT-
<br />ING A MAYOR; COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE FIVE; COUN-
<br />CIL MEMBER,PLACE SIX AND APPROVING OR REJECT-
<br />ING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A LEASE OF OUT-
<br />DOOR STORAGE/BATHROOM PORTION OF THE RECREATIONAL
<br />BUILDING IN THE SAN MARCOS CITY PARK TOGETHER
<br />WITH ACCESS TO THE PARKING LOT ADJACENT THERETO,
<br />TO THE LIONS CLUB OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND
<br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />ordered a regular city election on April 3, 1982 for the pur-
<br />pose of electing a mayor, council member, place five; council
<br />member place six and approving or rejecting the terms and condi-
<br />tions of a lease of outdoor storage/bathroom portions of the
<br />recreational building in the San Marcos Sity Park together with
<br />access to the parking lot adjacent thereto, to the Lions Club
<br />of San Marcos, Texas, by ordinance duly adopted on February 22,
<br />1982, and, amendedorl March 8, 1982; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly published ln the
<br />San Marcos Daily Record on March 14, 1982, and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, copies of said notice were duly posted at each
<br />city election precinct polling place prior to said election; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said election was duly and legally held on the
<br />3rd day of April, 1982, in conformity with the election laws
<br />of the State of Texas, and the results of said election have been
<br />certified and returned by the proper judges and clerks thereof;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />with the following members present: Emmie Craddock, Mayor,
<br />Berry R. James, Mayor Pro Tern; and Karl Brown,
<br />John A. Kreczmer, Elida A. Mendez, and Tess Norris Council Members;
<br />has today considered the returns of said regular city election
<br />held on the 3rd day of April, 1982; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it appears to the Council, and the Council so finds,
<br />that the said election was in all respects lawfully held; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it appears to the Council and the Council so finds
<br />that the tabulation of the results of said election is correct;
<br />now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That the tabulation of votes cast in the regular
<br />city election held on April 3, 1982 for the purpose of electing a
<br />mayor, council member, place five; council member place six and
<br />approving or rejecting the terms and conditions of a lease of
<br />outdoor storage/bathroom portion of the recreational building
<br />in the San Marcos city park together with access to the parking
<br />lot adjacent thereto, to the Lions Club of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />made and certified to by the City Secretary of the City of San
<br />Marcos, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part here-
<br />of, be, and the same is hereby, adopted as the official tabula-
<br />tion of the votes cast at said electmon and that said tabulation
<br />be filed and recorded in the official records of the City of
<br />San Marcos as the official canvass of said election.
