<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN ~ffiRCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TEill4S AND
<br />CONDITIONS OF THE SALE OF A PORTION OF LOT
<br />EIGHT (8), STOKES RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 17-
<br />26, 37-42, 63-73 AND 49-50 OF THE Z. WILLIAM-
<br />SON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS, HAYS
<br />COUNTY, TEXAS, TO JOHN J. STOKES; AUTHORIZING
<br />THE ~YOR TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED
<br />CONVEYING SAID PROPERTY; SUSPENDING THE RULE
<br />REQUIRING THAT ORDINANCES BE READ ON THREE
<br />SEPARATE DAYS, AND DECLARING AN E~lliRGENCY.

<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, is the owner of
<br />certain real property in said city, to-wit:
<br />
<br />A portion of Lot Eight (8), STOKES RESUBDIVISION
<br />OF LOTS 17-26, 37-42, 63-73 and 49-50 of the Z.
<br />WILLIAMSON ADDITION to the City of San Marcos,
<br />Hays County, Texas, according to the map or plat
<br />thereof, recorded in Volume 2, Page 38, Plat
<br />Records of Hays County, Texas, and being more
<br />particularly described by metes and bounds as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br />BEGINNING at the most easterly corner of said lots;
<br />
<br />THENCE with the Southwest line of Girard Avenue,
<br />N. 440 471 W. 20 feet to an iron rod;
<br />
<br />THENCE S. 450 131 W. 20 feet to an iron rod;
<br />
<br />THENCE S. 440 47' E. to an iron rod;
<br />
<br />THENCE N. 450 13' E. 20 feet along the Northwest
<br />line of Indiana Street to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said City desires to convey said property to John
<br />J. Stokes; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirement of Article 542lc-12(4),
<br />Texas Revised Civil Statutes, which governs the sale or trade of
<br />land by a political subdivision, said City has had said property
<br />appraised; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the appraised value of said property has been
<br />found to be Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00); now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS,
<br />TEXAS:

<br />SECTION 1. That the terms and conditions of the sale by the
<br />City of San Marcos, Texas, of a portion of Lot Eight (8), STOKES
<br />RESUBDIVISION of Lots 17-26, 37-42, 63-73, and 49-50 of the Z.
<br />WILLIAMSON ADDITION to the City of San Marcos, Hays County, Texas,
<br />according to the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume 2, Page
<br />38, Plat Records of Hays County, Texas, and being more particularly
<br />described by metes and bounds as follows:
<br />
<br />BEGINNING at the most easterly corner of said lots;
<br />
<br />THENCE with the Southwest line of Girard Avenue,
<br />N. 440 47' W. 20 feet to an iron rod;
<br />
<br />THENCE S. 450 131 W. 20 feet to an iron rod;
