<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
<br />
<br />The Nayor introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the
<br />regular meeting held March 10, 1980. Mr. James moved to approve the
<br />minutes. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />The Mayor introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the
<br />special meeting held March 19, 1980. Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the
<br />minutes. Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />At 6:03 p.m., the Council went into executive session for personnel
<br />evaluations on motion of Mr. Tenorio and second of Mr. Cavazos.
<br />
<br />The Council reconvened in regular session at 7:50 p.m. on motion of
<br />Mr. Cavazos and second of Mr. Tenorio. The Mayor reported that the
<br />Council had met with the City Secretary, City Attorney and the City
<br />Manager. No action was taken.
<br />
<br />The Mayor introduced for consideration appointments to the Tourist
<br />Development Arts Subcommittee. The nominees were Nancy Moore, Ralph
<br />Harrel and Marvin Altenhoff. Mr. Cavazos moved the nominees be
<br />appointed. Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />The next item for discussion was the public hearing to discuss the
<br />interim Subdivision Ordinance. Joe Garza told the Council that Planning
<br />& Zoning had reviewed this Ordinance and the recommendations from them
<br />would be made to the Council at the April 14th regular meeting. Mr.
<br />Breihan made a motion to table this item until that time. Mr. Tenorio
<br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously.

<br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a public hearing to consider rates
<br />of fare for River Taxi Service. Glenn Brooks told the Council they
<br />proposed to charge 759 each way for the service. Mr. Cavazos moved to
<br />direct the City Attorney to prepare an Ordinance setting the reates. Mr.
<br />James seconded the motion which passed unanimously.

<br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second reading
<br />having the following caption:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS, GRANTING TO RIVER TAXI SERVICE A FRANCHISE FOR ONE YEAR
<br />TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A TAXI SERVICE WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS
<br />OF SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSPORTING PERSONS USING
<br />INNERTUBES ON THE SAN MARCOS RIVER; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS,
<br />CONDITIONS, OBLIGATIONS AND LIMITATIONS UPON WHICH FRANCHISE
<br />SHALL BE EXERCISED AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
