<br /> - 108 <br /> ~ <br /> - <br /> - <br /> ORDINANCE 199^-- 8 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS UPDATING, <br /> CLARIFYING AND AMENDING CHAPTER 29, <br /> TRAFFIC, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF <br /> ORDINANCES: ESTABLISHING A FEE TO BE <br /> CHARGED FOR A PARADE PERMIT: PROVIDING <br /> FOR SEVERABILITY: REPEALING ALL <br /> CONFLICTING ORDINANCES: PROVIDING A <br /> PENALTY: PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND <br /> PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. That Chapter 29, Traffic, of the San Marcos Code <br /> of Ordinances is hereby repealed and the following is adopted in <br /> its place: <br /> CHAPTER 29 <br /> TRAFFIC <br /> ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL <br /> Sec. 29-1. Application of state laws. <br /> The provisions of all state laws governing the operation and <br /> movement of vehicles and pedestrians, including but not <br /> limited to the Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on Highways, <br /> shall apply within the city except as modified by the <br /> provisions of this Chapter. <br /> Sec. 29-2. Definitions. <br /> Words which are defined in the Uniform Act Regulating Traffic <br /> on Highways shall have the same meanings when used in this <br /> Chapter, with the addition of the following words and phrases <br /> which shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them <br /> in this Section: <br /> (a) Alley: Any public way extending either partly or <br /> completely through any city block in the rear of the lots <br /> comprising the block. <br /> (b) Parade: Any procession or combination of vehicles, <br /> pedestrians, or animal s operated or conducted upon any <br /> public street, sidewalk, or alley which does not comply <br /> with normally applicable traffic regulations or controls. <br /> Sec. 29-3. Traffic control devices - authority to install. <br /> (a) The installation of the following traffic control devices <br /> shall require approval from the city council by <br /> ordinance: <br /> (1) Traffic signals: <br /> (2) One-way streets: <br /> (3) Speed limits: <br /> (4) Time-restricted parking meters and parking meter <br /> areas and all other parking regulations not <br /> specifically delegated to the traffic engineer under <br /> this Chapter: and, <br />
