Womack <br /> City Attorney Barbara Jean Edwards <br /> Director of Public Works George Boeker <br /> Director of Finance Earl Williams <br /> City Planner Joe Garza <br /> Police Chief Myron Galchutt <br /> Also Present: Jackie Matthys, Don Laine, Gregg Echols, Nina pryatel, <br /> Jeff Watkins, PeeWee Dougherty, Gwen Smith, Olga Garza, Mike Chapman, <br /> John Morrisset, Jerri Martin, Fred Guerra, Bill Nicola, Jack Lindstrom, <br /> Carl Deal, Kelly Kilber and others. <br /> Mayor Craddock called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of <br /> the Regular Meeting held February 28, 1983. Mr. Brown moved for approv- <br /> al of the minutes and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unani- <br /> mously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on <br /> first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, GRANTING TO TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISES, <br /> INCORPORATED, A FRANCHISE FOR FIFTEEN (15) YEARS TO <br /> OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A MOTOR BUS SYSTEM FOR THE TRANS- <br /> PORTATION OF PERSONS AND PROPERTY UPON THE PUBLIC <br /> STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br /> PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE CONSTITUTION AND <br /> LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, THE CHARTER OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, AND THE CODES AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS; SETTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE <br /> OPERATION OF SAID TRANSPORTATION ENTERPRISE AND DECLAR- <br /> ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. <br /> Moore seconded the motion. Mr. Brown moved to amend the Ordinance <br /> in Section l(B) for a term of five years instead of fifteen years <br /> and in Section ICE) to set the rate at 2% of gross sales, which <br /> section would read as follows: "Payments to City. City shall not <br /> require of Company the payment of any fees, licenses or charges <br /> other than those required by the statutes of the State of Texas; <br /> the regularly levied and assessed taxes on its property located <br /> in the City of San Marcos; a street rental charge consisting of <br /> 2 percent of all gross receipts of the Company on operations with- <br /> in the City of San Marcos serving the City and/or Southwest Texas <br /> State University. II Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed <br /> unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of <br /> the Ordinance on first reading, as amended. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br /> on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br />
