<br />á1J. <br />J...:¡) <br />I+- <br /> <br /> <br />44 <br /> <br /> <br />ð'J}.-"'....' <br />~I(J <br />0<::) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1989-5 <br /> <br />~ <br />I-L.. <br />I-JC <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ORDERING A JOINT GENERAL <br />ELECTION BY SAID CITY AND THE SAN MARCOS <br />CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE <br />HELD IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ON MAY <br />6, 1989 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY <br />COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE ONE, AND A CITY COUNCIL <br />MEMBER, PLACE TWO, AND TO BE HELD WITHIN THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF SAID SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF ELECTING A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF <br />TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE THREE, AND A SCHOOL <br />DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE FOUR; <br />ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF COMPENSATION TO BE <br />PAID JUDGES, CLERKS, AND ASSISTANTS TO THE <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR FOR SERVICES RENDERED <br />DURING SAID ELECTION; MAKING PROVISIONS FOR <br />THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION AND OTHER <br />PROVISIONS INCIDENT TO THE PURPOSES OF THIS <br />ORDINANCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That, in accordance with the Charter of the <br />City of San Marcos and the laws of the State of Texas, so far as <br />the same may be applicable, a joint general election by the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent <br />School District shall be held, and the same is ordered and <br />directed to be held, at the various polling places and election <br />precincts within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, and within the boundaries of the San Marcos Consolidated <br />Independent School District, as hereinafter designated, on the 6th <br />day of May, 1989, from the hours of 7 :00 a.m. to 7 :00 p.m., at <br />which joint election there shall be elected by the qualified <br />voters of the City of San Marcos from the City at large, a City <br />Council Member for Place One and a City Council Member for Place <br />Two, for terms of three years each. By the qualified voters of <br />the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District there <br />shall be elected a School District Board of Trustees Member for <br />Place Three, and a School District Board of Trustees Member for <br />Place Four, for terms of three years each. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the election precincts for said election <br />shall be, in all respects, the same precincts as those Hays County <br />Election Precincts which are within the corporate limits of the <br />City of San Marcos and all those Hays, Caldwell, and Guadalupe <br />County Election Precincts which are within the boundaries of the <br />San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District. <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
