Cox, <br />Joe Camacho, Leland Jackson, Frank Contreras, <br />Gerald Thornton, Lanny Cravey, Jerri Veidt, <br />Kenneth Compton, Ross King, George Reed <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p~m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Zavesky and second of Councilman Smith, <br />the Minutes of the June 10, 1968 meeting were approved as <br />presented. <br /> <br />Ross King, representative of the Rotary Club, presented plans <br />for a circular sprinkler wading pool which the Club wished to <br />install in the south part of town for the recreational use of <br />neighborhood children. He requested use of a triangular piece <br />of City property between Roosevelt and Camacho for installation <br />of the wading pool, and that the City assume maintenance. He <br />said the Club hoped to install pools in otrer parts of town, if <br />the first one proved successful. Dr. Pool moved that the Council <br />authorize installation of the pool on the property at Roosevelt <br />and Camacho, and that the City maintain the facility. Mr. Dannelley <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />H.Y. Price, Jr., member Of the Board of Community Action, Inc. <br />of Hays County, came .before the Council to explain the Green <br />Amendment, and how it would affect the local Board. Mrs. Margaret <br />Herrera, Executive Director of Community Action, said the City <br />is entitled to five members on the Steering Committee; that they <br />have the privelege of serving, themselves, or may appoint five others. <br />She said Councilman Flores was already a member of the Steering <br />Committee, by election from his neighborhood. Councilmen Craddock, <br />Dannelley, Pool, Smith and Zavesky volunteered t6 serve on the <br />Steering Committee of Community Action, Inc. <br /> <br />George Reed, Tax Assessor-Collector, came before the Council to <br />request that a quit-claim deed be authorized for a piece of <br />property which the City acquired through delinquent taxes." <br />He said Jesus Silguero had paid all delinqunet taxes, and had <br />complied with all other requirements for such ~aSes. Dr. Craddock <br />moved that a quit-claim deed be prepared by the City Attorney <br />for the property, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute it. <br />Mr. Dannelley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
