<br />-3- <br /> <br />Sec. 5-29. <br /> <br />Section 706.1. <br /> <br />Section <br />follows: <br /> <br />706.1 <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Chapter <br /> <br />7 is <br /> <br />hereby amended to read as <br /> <br />706.1--GENERAL <br /> <br />Roof coverings shall be divided into the classes defined <br />below and shall be governed by the requirements of 302.2.4 <br />All Class A, Band C roof coverings shall be tested in <br />accordance with ASTM E 108. In addition, fire retardant <br />treated wood roof coverings shall be tested in accordance <br />with ASTM D 2898. All roof coverings shall be installed <br />in accordance with the SBCCI Standard for the Installation <br />of Roof Coverings or other approved nationally recognized <br />standards, and said Standard is incorporated herein and <br />made a part hereof by reference for all purposes. <br /> <br />Sec. 5-30. <br /> <br />Chapter 9 <br /> <br />Chapter 9 is hereby amended by adding the following as Section <br />901.1 and renumbering present Section 901.1 and the remaining <br />sections of said chapter sequentially: <br /> <br />A. All buildings four (4) stories or more or having a <br />height of 40 feet or higher shall be protected by an <br />approved automatic fire sprinkler throughout the entire <br />area of the building. Installation shall be in accordance <br />with NFiPA 13. <br /> <br />B. All buildings, except those classified as residential <br />occupancies, with a gross total enclosed floor area of greater <br />than 20,000 square feet shall be equipped with automatic fire <br />sprinklers throughout the entire building. Residential <br />occupancies with a gross total enclosed floor area of greater <br />than 15,000 square feet shall be sprinklered throughout the <br />entire building. Installation shall be in accordance with <br />NFiPA 13. <br /> <br />C. In case of conflict of subsections A and/or B with any <br />of the provisions of this code, the stronger, more burdensome <br />requirements shall prevail or control and be enforced. <br /> <br />Sec. 5-31. <br /> <br />Section 1302.1. <br /> <br />Section <br />follows: <br /> <br />1302.1 <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Chapter <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />is hereby amended to read as <br /> <br />1302.1-- ~lINHmM FOUNDATION FOR SINGLE FAfllILY AND TWO FAMILY <br />RESIDENTIAL <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />Minimum requirements for a single story wood frame <br />residence containing less than 600 square feet of <br />habitable area shall be as follows: Outside concrete <br />beams 10" wide, 18" in depth with two (2) #4 bars top <br />and bottom, stirrups every six feet; slab shall be minimum <br />3 5/8" thick with #3 bars 18" on center both ways <br />or 6" x 6" x 6" wire mesh; there shall be a cross beam of <br />area if slab is over 400 square feet; cross beam to be 10" <br />wide by 16" deep with two (2) #4 bars top and bottom with <br />stirrups every six (6) feet; top of concrete slab shall be <br />a minimum 6" above finished grade of yard. The minimum <br />requirements for a single story wood frame residence <br />containing more than 600 square feet in habitable area <br />shall be as follows: Outside concrete beams shall be <br />minimum 10" wide and 24" in depth, with two (2) #4 bars <br />top and bottom, and stirrups every six (6) feet; the slab <br />shall be a minimum of 3 5/8" thick with #3 bars 18" on <br />center both ways or 6" x 6" x6" wire mesh; cross beams <br />shall be placed dividing slab area into minimum of 400 <br />square feet areas; cross beams shall be 10" wide by 16" <br />deep with two (2) #4 bars top and bottom of beam, and <br />
