<br />-18- <br /> <br />(f) In dwellings (residential occupancies), <br />certain additional rules shall apply: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Separate dedicated branch circuits shall <br />be provided for each refrigerator, <br />dishwasher, and garbage disposal unit. <br />These appliances shall be cord connected, <br />and the garbage disposal shall be <br />switched by a snap switch located above <br />or adjacent to the kitchen sink. Where <br />desired, the garbage disposal and <br />dishwasher circuits may share a <br />split-wired receptacle, provided all <br />other code condi tions for such use are <br />followed. The dishwasher circuit shall <br />have no other outlets on the circuit. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Where provisions are made for a microwave <br />oven, a separate branch circuit is <br />required, and no other outlet shall be on <br />the circuit. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />No mora than eight outlets shall be <br />installed per circuit. No more than six <br />of these outlets shall be receptacle <br />outlets. (This rule does not apply to <br />non-residential occupancies or to <br />lighting circuits containing no <br />receptacles. Such circuits shall be <br />calculated in accordance with Article <br />210-22, 210-23 and 220.2) <br /> <br />(g) Where Article 680-41 relating to the <br />indoor installation of spas, hot-tubs, or <br />hydromassage bathtubs cannot be complied with due <br />to architectural design constraints, the Electrical <br />Board will consider alternate installation methods, <br />provided that maximum protection to the user is <br />considered. Such alternate installation proposals <br />shall be submitted to the Electrical Board at it's <br />regular meeting, and shall consist of <br />sketches/drawings of the proposed installation <br />method. Any such approval obtained shall be <br />restricted to that particular installations. <br /> <br />(h) Portable or temporary job shacks or <br />trailers will be allowed to be wired in Type NM, <br />NMC, or SNM cable during the construction phase of <br />a proj ect . However, they must be removed when a <br />Certificate of Occupancy is received for the <br />building under construction. <br /> <br />(i) Premanufactured portable offices or <br />trailers shall be allowed to be wired in Type NM, <br />NMC or SNM Cable provided they are used as <br />temporary buildings only. To be so considered, <br />they must not be placed on permanent foundations, <br />must not have the transport undercarriage removed, <br />nor shall the foundation be enclosed to give a <br />permanent appearance. <br /> <br />(j) All services of 600 Amps and smaller in <br />rating shall have disconnecting means located on <br />the exterior of the building served. By special <br />permission, where this condition cannot be met, the <br />Electrical Board will consider alternate locations. <br /> <br />(k) Electrical Metallic Tubing (Article 348) <br />shall not be permitted to be installed in <br />concrete. <br />(1) Overhead service entrance conductors must <br />be in either Rigid Metal Conduit, Intermediate <br />
