<br />-4- <br /> <br />(8) <br /> <br />A record of all board actions not <br />specifically included in items 2 through <br />7 above. <br />Such other records as may be directed by <br />the Board Chair, or by subsequent action <br />of the Board. <br /> <br />(9) <br /> <br />Sec. 9-3. <br /> <br />Electrical inspector. <br /> <br />(a) The office of Electrical Inspector in and <br />for the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby <br />created and that office shall be filled by <br />appointment made by the Chief Building Official. <br /> <br />(b) The Electrical Inspector, or his <br />supervisor, shall possess a valid San Marcos Master <br />Electrician's License, either by testing or <br />reciprocal agreement, and be well versed in the <br />National Electric Code, and the full content of <br />this Chapter of the Code of Ordinances of the City <br />of San Marcos. <br /> <br />(c) The Chief Building Official, the <br />Electrical Inspector, and any other members of the <br />Building Official'" s staff who might at any time <br />have jurisdiction over the performance of work <br />under this code are prohibited from engaging in the <br />business of Master Electrician, as defined in this <br />chapter, within the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />(d) The Electrical Inspector, or other person <br />as described in (c) above shall not be in debt to <br />any Master Electrician whose work he must inspect. <br /> <br />(e) No official shall perform the duties of <br />Electrical Inspector unless he or she has <br />previously qualified in the manner described in (b) <br />above or is supervised by the Electrical Inspector <br />in the performance of those duties. <br /> <br />(f) As used in this Chapter, "Electrical <br />Inspector" shall include the person designated in <br />part (a) above or any other person designated by <br />the Chief Building Official or the Electrical <br />Inspector in conformance with this section. <br /> <br />(g) If the Electrical Inspector is unable to <br />perform his or her duties, and there is no other <br />available qualified inspector, the Chair of the <br />Electrical Board shall designate two members of the <br />Electrical Board to jointly perform the duties of <br />the Electrical Inspector until a qualified <br />Electrical Inspector is available. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-3.1. Duties of the electrical inspector. <br /> <br />The Electrical <br />following duties: <br /> <br />(a) To enforce the provisions of this Chapter <br />and to bring before the Electrical Board complaints <br />against persons who violate any of its provisions; <br /> <br />Inspector <br /> <br />shall <br /> <br />have <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />(b) To enter any house or premises at any <br />reasonable time with the knowledge of the owner or <br />custodian to examine any electrical wiring or <br />installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, or <br />equipment; <br /> <br />(c) To order the electric service <br />disconnected when improper or defective wiring <br />exists or where electrical construction or <br />equipment has been installed without a permit only <br />
