<br />-7- <br /> <br />Master Electrician and JourneYman Electrician <br />through the use of standardized tests, or by <br />contracting with a qualified third party to prepare <br />and administer such tests. The Board retains the <br />right to review such tests on a regular basis, and <br />to terminate such contract without prejudice. <br />Tests administered after October 1, 1988 shall be <br />validated by a competent testing and measuring <br />professional. <br /> <br />(e) Application for examination shall be made <br />on a form furnished by the Electrical Board. The <br />application shall state his or her full name, date <br />of birth, weight, height, color of eyes, color of <br />hair, sex, residence and business address. It <br />shall specify the applicant's experience and shall <br />state whether the applicant has ever been licensed <br />as an electrician, and if so, when and by what <br />state, county, or city; whether his or her license <br />has ever been suspended or revoked; whether the <br />applicant has ever been refused a license, and if <br />so, the date of and the reason for suspension, <br />revocation or refusal. <br /> <br />(f) Written examination shall be given the <br />applicant at the next regular scheduled testing <br />date. Tests shall be offered not less than four <br />(4) times per year. A passing grade of 75 percent <br />shall be required. If an applicant is unsuccessful <br />in a second attempt, he or she shall not be <br />re-examined for a period of one year from the date <br />of the second testing. In no event will an <br />applicant be tested more than two times in any <br />12-month period. <br /> <br />Sec. 9-4.3. Issuance of electricallicenses. <br /> <br />(a) Whenever a person has successfully passed <br />the examination, the Board shall issue a license to <br />him or her and shall record the issuance of the <br />license. <br /> <br />(b) No license shall be issued to a Master <br />Electrician until he or she has first given bond in <br />the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) <br />conditioned upon full and faithful compliance with <br />the ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />regulating installation and repair of electrical <br />wiring and apparatus. <br /> <br />(c) The issuance of a Master Electrician <br />License is to insure that the business entity <br />represented provides proper supervision of all <br />electrical work under its control. Therefore, it <br />shall be a violation of this Code for the person <br />holding a license to represent more than one <br />business entity, unless the business entities are <br />joined by common ownership. This clause is not <br />intended to prohibit legal joint ventures. <br /> <br />(d) No license shall be issued for more <br />one year and it may be renewed from year to <br />upon application of the holder.
