On roll call the following vote was re-
corded:
AYE: Farr, Craddock, Kissler.
NAY: Coddington, Guerra.
ABSTAIN: None.
The motion failed and City Attorney Hankins stated the matter could
be reconsidered by the Council at the August 27, 1984 Council Meeting.
Mayor Craddock opened a public hearing to consider an appeal of the
issuance of a specific use permit granted by the Zoning Commission
to Wild Bill's, located at 220 N. Edward Gary. Mayor Craddock asked
if anyone wished to speak against the appeal. Attorney William Lynn
Bennett, representing David Beck and Tim Noland, who applied for the
permit, spoke in favor of his clients being issued the permit. ,J ohn
Meeks, representing Nelson Interests, stated he had a concern for the
parking problem in the area and stated the request did not conform to
a specific use permit and asks the Council to deny the request. John
McCrocklin who filed the appeal of the issuance of the specific use
permit, stated he was concerned with Wild Bill's incompatibility and
inadequate fire capacity in the area and wanted a more professional
environment. No one else wished to speak at the public hearing, so
Mayor Craddock closed the public hearing. City Planner Frank Robbins
recommended the Council remand the appeal back to the Zoning Commission
for them to make recommendations to the Council addressing the parking,
litter, etc. problems of the area. On
roll call the following vote was recorded:
AYE: Craddock.
NAY: Coddington, Farr, Guerra, Kissler.
ABSTAIN: None.
