<br />Narrative <br />page-6 <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE 2-C: To sponsor a social services fair during FY <br />1988-89. The fair will offer the ESL community a chance to <br />meet and obtain information from representatives of at least <br />ten social service agencies at one convenient time and place. <br /> <br />PERFORMANCE MEASURE: <br />social services fair <br />by August 31, 1989. <br />and clients will be <br />and reported to TSL <br /> <br />The Project Coordinator will host a <br />with the required number of agencies <br />Statistics on attendance of agencies <br />maintained by the Project Coordinator <br />on our semi-annual evaluation. <br /> <br />GOAL ~ To take a story time program into the Hispanic community <br />in order to encourage children from bilingual and non-English <br />speaking homes to develop their English skills and to introduce <br />them to library programs and resources. <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE 3-A: To conduct twenty story time programs for the <br />Hispanic community during FY 1988-89. These programs will <br />have an average weekly attendance of ten participants. <br /> <br />PERFORMANCE MEASURE: The Story time Presenter will report <br />the attendance at each story time program to the Project <br />Coordinator. The Coordinator will include these <br />statistics on our semi-annual evaluation report to TSL. <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE 3-B: To distribute informational material about <br />the library and to issue library cards to thirty new people <br />through the story time program. <br /> <br />PERFORMANCE MEASURE: The Story time Presenter will <br />distribute an in~ormational flier about the library to <br />parents of children who attend the story time program. <br />He/she will issue library cards and check out display <br />books to attendees. The Presenter will keep a tally of <br />all such transactions and report them to the Project <br />Coordinator for inclusion in our semi-annual evaluation <br />report. <br /> <br />GOAL 4: To make the English Hispanic community in San Marcos <br />aware of library services through an effective bilingual <br />(Spanish-English) publicity campaign. <br /> <br />OBJECTIVE ~-A: To make presentations about the library to at <br />least ten organizations which work closely with the bilingual <br />community during FY 1988-89. These organizations will <br />include the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Hays County <br />Women's Center, the San Marcos Ministerial Association, the <br />local LULAC Chapter, local Parent Teacher Organizations, the <br />San Marcos Manufacturers' Association, the San Marcos <br />Minorities Commission and other appropriate church and civic <br />organizations. <br />
