<br />Narrative <br />page-10 <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />~ibrary Director <br /> <br />The Library Director will supervise all project <br />evaluations, audits, etc. She will also supervise the <br />selection and ordering of materials, equipment, and <br />furniture purchased with project funds. It is anticipated <br />that she will devote three hours per week to the project. <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />Educational ODportunity Center (EOC) Tutors <br /> <br />Approximately 800 tutoring hours for the 1988-1989 grant <br />year will be provided by tutors who will be paid by the <br />Educational Opportunity Center. They will be available <br />for free walk-in tutoring hours at the library. <br /> <br />6) <br /> <br />Volunteer Tutors <br /> <br />Approximately 45 volunteer tutors will be recruited and <br />trained in ESL, GED and literacy tutoring techniques <br />during the year. Tutors will work with students on an <br />appointment and/or walk-in basis. A job description for <br />our volunteer tutors is located in Appendix C. <br /> <br />7) <br /> <br />Cataloaing Assistant <br /> <br />The Cataloging Assistant currently on the library staff <br />will be responsible for typing and filing card sets for <br />the lifelong learning collection, typing book orders for <br />the collection, processing library materials, and <br />providing other clerical support for the project. .It is <br />anticipated that she will spend approximately 150 hours <br />during the year on the project. <br /> <br />8) <br /> <br />Other Library Staff <br /> <br />All library staff members who work with the public will be <br />oriented to the special needs of the target group. They <br />will be given training with regard to the policies, <br />procedures, and services of the project and will become <br />familiar with the materials available in the Lifelong <br />Learn~ng Collection. Staff members will playa vital role <br />in promoting use of our new services and in encouraging <br />our new patrons to become lifelong library users. <br /> <br />VII. <br /> <br />ADVERTISING <br /> <br />One of our most important goals in obtaining this LSCA grant is <br />to make the Hispanic community aware. of library materials and <br />services. An effective bilingual publicity campaign will be <br />essential to the success of our project. An outline of our <br />publicity plan follows: <br />
