Narrative page-10 4) ~ibrary Director The Library Director will supervise all project evaluations, audits, etc. She will also supervise the selection and ordering of materials, equipment, and furniture purchased with project funds. It is anticipated that she will devote three hours per week to the project. 5) Educational ODportunity Center (EOC) Tutors Approximately 800 tutoring hours for the 1988-1989 grant year will be provided by tutors who will be paid by the Educational Opportunity Center. They will be available for free walk-in tutoring hours at the library. 6) Volunteer Tutors Approximately 45 volunteer tutors will be recruited and trained in ESL, GED and literacy tutoring techniques during the year. Tutors will work with students on an appointment and/or walk-in basis. A job description for our volunteer tutors is located in Appendix C. 7) Cataloaing Assistant The Cataloging Assistant currently on the library staff will be responsible for typing and filing card sets for the lifelong learning collection, typing book orders for the collection, processing library materials, and providing other clerical support for the project. .It is anticipated that she will spend approximately 150 hours during the year on the project. 8) Other Library Staff All library staff members who work with the public will be oriented to the special needs of the target group. They will be given training with regard to the policies, procedures, and services of the project and will become familiar with the materials available in the Lifelong Learn~ng Collection. Staff members will playa vital role in promoting use of our new services and in encouraging our new patrons to become lifelong library users. VII. ADVERTISING One of our most important goals in obtaining this LSCA grant is to make the Hispanic community aware. of library materials and services. An effective bilingual publicity campaign will be essential to the success of our project. An outline of our publicity plan follows:
