Your proposal to expand a program <br />that can provide individualized services to adults for whom <br />English is a second language is most timely and will fill a <br />clear need here in San Marcos. <br /> <br />The Hays County Women's Center frequently serves women sho <br />are struggling to gain economic independence in order to <br />rebuild their lives and those of their children without a <br />violent partner. They can be severely limited by a lack of <br />educational attainment, by functional illiteracy and/or <br />especially by the inability to communicate effectively in <br />English.
