(2 points)

All uncovered parking and loading areas containing
10 or more spaces are to contain areas landscaped
with grass, shrubs, ground cover, trees, and
pedestrian paths within the parking or loading area,
and adjacent to it within 10 feet, equal in area to
not less than 10 percent of the total paved area
used for parking spaces and driveways, and one tree
of at least 2 1/2 inches caliper at the time of
planting is to be provided for each 250 square feet
of landscaping required or provided. Preservation
of an existing tree of 5 inches or greater caliper
in the parking and loading areas shall count as
two newly planned trees. (3 points)

All existing trees of 15 inches or greater caliper
within the PDD will be preserved or replaced with
trees of equal or greater caliper when mature, and 3
inches or greater caliper when planted. (2 points)

All public streets within the PDD will have for each
50 linear feet of street frontage at least one shade
tree of 15 inches or greater caliper when mature to
be located within 15 feet of the street curb on each
side of the street. (3 points)

At least 75 percent of all required or provided
landscaping within the PDD will be native vegetation
or other plant materials recommended by the Texas
Agricultural Extension Service which are well
adapted to the local soils and climate so as to
require minimal water use for landscape maintenance.
(2 points)

The development will substantially incorporate
techniques for water conservation such as rainwater
collection, low-flow devices, and grey-water
recycling of effluent from bathtubs, fountains,
laundry machines, car washes, swimming pools, etc.,
for re-use in washing, fire suppression, or
irrigation as approved by the Health Department. (3
points)

The proposed landscaping incorporates existing or
new deciduous shade trees to be located such that,
when mature, they will naturally provide significant
solar shading of at least 50 percent of buildings
within the PDD during the warm season, thereby
reducing building cooling loads. (3 points)

At least 75 percent of the buildings within the PDD
will be oriented and designed such that any
significant facade facing within 30 degr~es of south
will take advantage of solar space heating
techniques during the cool season, and are shaded by
structural devices or vegetation during the warm
season. (3 points)

Solar heating or waste energy techniques will
contribute significantly to the year-round domestic
hot water requirements of at least 75 percent of the
buildings within the PDD. (3 points)

At least 50 percent of the buildings in the PDD are
to be oriented and designed to maximize the
opportunity for natural ventilation during mild
seasons. (3 points)

The appearance of all buildings, signs, fences, and
accessory structures within each lot of the PDD will
be coordinated with respect to scale, materials,
style, and color. (2 points)
