<br />SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC UTILITY <br /> <br />ELECTRIC TARIFF <br /> <br />ISSUED BY: <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br /> <br />SHEET NO. <br /> <br />EFFECTIVE DATE: <br /> <br />10/1/88 <br /> <br />REVISION NO. <br /> <br />DEPOSITS <br />RATE SCHEDULE - DEPOSITS <br /> <br />APPLICATION <br /> <br />Each applicant for service, excluding government agencies, will <br />be required to make a cash deposit with the City to establish or <br />re-establish credit before service will be rendered. However, <br />subject to these rules, an applicant shall not be required to pay <br />a deposit: <br /> <br />1. If the applicant is applying for a similar service at a <br />different place and has been a customer of the San Marcos <br />Electric Utility or its predecessor at one location within <br />the last twelve (12) months and has had service at that <br />location for a minimum of three (3) years and during the <br />last twenty-four (24) consecutive months was not delinquent <br />in payment of any bill. <br /> <br />2. If it is a new applicant for service under the large <br />general service rate (500 kW or greater) and it provides <br />the San Marcos Electric Utility an irrevocable letter of <br />credit from a bank or lending institution approved by the <br />City in the amount equivalent to a deposit calculated <br />according to AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT below. Such letter of <br />credit must be approved by the City Attorney and must <br />contain a provision that any litigation concerning the <br />letter of credit must be filed in Hays County, Texas. <br /> <br />AMOUNT OF DEPOSIT <br /> <br />The required deposit for residential <br />customers shall be the greater of <br /> <br />and general <br /> <br />services <br /> <br />(1) <br />(2) <br /> <br />$ 50.00 or <br /> <br />an amount equivalent to one-sixth (1/6) of either the <br />estimated annual billings to that service location or <br />an estimated annual billing to similar dwellings or <br />services. <br /> <br />9/6/88 <br /> <br />- 32 - <br />
