57 Regular Meeting January 27, 1986 Page 2 Mr. Guerra introduced for consideration approval of seven appointments to the San Marcos Industrial Development Corporation Board of Direct- ors. Mr. Coddington moved to reappoint all six members who are pre- sently serving on this Board, and they are H. Y. Price, Bob Pollard, W. C. Carson, David Glover, Clovis Barker and Lupe Carbajahl, which passed unanimously. The Council directed the seventh member to re- place Hollis Smith, who passed away, be placed on the February 10, 1986 agenda. Mr. Guerra introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Building Code Board of Adjustments and Appeals to complete the vacancy of Shirley Wickersham. Mr. Coddington moved to appoint Herb Sanchez to complete the vacancy and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Guerra introduced for consideration direction to Staff regarding the Social Service Agency Board. A. C. Gonzalez and Bob Eerrera are to work with the temporary board to gather their recommendations on how to proceed with the needs assessment for the permanent board, and how agencies will be monitored. The Council asked that a meeting be called as soon as practicable and to provide the Council with a report as soon as possible. Mr. Nicola suggested a deadline be set for the Board's report with the target date to be April 1, and Mr. Gonzalez stated he would proceed as soon as possible to have the group set up a timetable. Mr. Guerra introduced a public hearing and consideration of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 557, BLOCK 42, WESTOVER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN 11ARCOS, TEXAS AS SHOWK ON THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN VOLUME 2, PAGE 160, PLAT RECORDS OF HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF THE 1100 BLOCK OF HILLYER STREET, FROM "DP-2" (DUPLEX DISTRICT) TO "R-l" (SINGLE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Guerra opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak in favor or in opposition to the request. No one did, so Mr. Guerra closed the public hearing. Mr. Brown moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
