<br />(1) <br /> <br />Materials Permitted. Fence or walls may be constructed of wood, <br />decorative metaL masonry, or other decorative materials. New and <br />innovative materials such as plastics, PVCs, metal panel or metal slat, <br />"honeycomb", cementatious fiber board (e. g., "W oodCrete"), and other <br />similar materials may be approved for use by the Planning Director if the <br />material is compatible with creating a positive streetscape and enhancing <br />the area's appearance. Chain link, woven wire mesh metal paneL or <br />similar materials are not considered decorative fencing, and are therefore <br />not allowed for this purpose except for property in Industrial and Heavy <br />Commercial districts. Those properties may utilize chain link fencing <br />along a street if additional landscape material is provided between the <br />fence and property line to assure compatibility with properties along that <br />subject street. <br /> <br />(2) Location offencinf!. No fencing shall be placed between the property line <br />and the building set backline when adjacent to a public or private street <br />right of way, park or trail. <br /> <br />(3) Heif!ht of Fences. Any fence or wall located between the street right of <br />way and the front facade (or side facade if a corner lot) of a building shall <br />not exceed 3 feet in height unless one of the following conditions applies: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />The fence is less than eight feet tall and is on property III an <br />Industrial or Heavy Commercial zoning district. <br /> <br />B. The fence is less than eight feet talL decorative and encloses only <br />outdoor dining or recreation areas <br /> <br />(4) Fences between buildinf!s on the same lot. Any fence located facing a <br />street that is between adjacent buildings and behind the front most facade <br />of either building may not exceed eight feet in height. <br /> <br />(b) Fences Permitted Alonf!
