-3- Any such removal of a City official by the Ci ty Counc il shall require a majority vote of the membership of the City Counc il and shall be preceded by adequate notice to the official of the time and location of the meeting, the nature of the charge against the official, and an op¡:::xJrtunity for a hearing. At any such hearing, evidence both for and against the City official may be offered for the Counc ill s consideration. The Counc il may, by ordinance, provide for further or more detailed procedures pertaining to the removal of City officals, not inconsistent with this provision.1I ITEM 5: Amend .section 4.01 of the City Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas to require the City Manager to provide an annual report on Municipal Court by adding the following subsection (c) (8): Sec. 4.01. Add the word IIchief" after the word IIthell and before the word "judgell and after the word "judgell add lIand any associate judge or judges". " ( e) In case of disability or absence of the judge of the municipal court, the associate judge as designated and compensated by the council shall act as judge of said courL" After the words "mmicipal court," delete the remaining part of that sentence and substitute for it the following: IIAny associate judge as designated by the chief judge of said court shall act as judge of said court."
